We had similar ones out of plastic in our 5th wheel (installed by the manufacturer). They lasted about 10 years. We had recently opened the closet door to find one end of the rod hanging in mid-air (there was a center support that kept it from crashing to the floor). The plastic had failed and one end broke in half. When we unscrewed the other end, the plastic broke on it too. I suspect it was due to age and also our RV has a permanent home now and there are more clothes on the rod than when it was on the road. The old plastic ends were held in by one center screw in each piece; these have three screws each. These metal ones are nicely made and finished, hold more weight, and are more secure in the closet wall with the three screws. They are also a little deeper so they catch more of the rod than the old ones. So after 2 months of use, we have no complaints.ETA: Still working great at nearly a year.

These are high quality, heavy pieces that were easy to install. I just removed the old pieces of plastic junk that kept breaking and aligned the new pieces, drilled new holes - and Presto! Now my rods are solid as a rock. I was so annoyed with the plastic ones, I replaced all 9 sets in my house. Doh - I needed 10 (missed a hallway closet). Will need to get another - but well worth it!!!

One of the plastic brackets in my hall closet broke, so I bought this as a replacement. These are solid, and each end has 3 screws, so it should hold the weight of the closet rod full of heavy clothes much better than the old plastic brackets.These were also very easy to install.

Fit the use we needed it for.

It has served it's purpose !!!

When our plastic rod hangers broke under the weight of my husband's suits, I found these metal replacements. They fit the rod perfectly, were easy to install, and I hope will be the last ones I ever need to buy.

They do the job they were intended to do. They work better than some other brackets that I've used in the past. The white color works well in a closet with the shelves and walls painted white for increased visibility in the closet.

Made of ... metalUnlike almost everything else these days, these rod mounts are made of METAL. They're heavy and feel very substantial. They will certainly outlast the closet shelf unit they're screwed to now.I'll be replacing all of my cheap plastic closet rod mounts with these.
