Makes vegetable prep a pleasure!
There are many excellent brands of chef’s knives out there that perform very well. I’ve tried many of them. What I’ve learned after much trial and error is that how the knife fits in your hand and the way it complements your cutting style is extremely important. If a knife is a pleasure to use, you’ll cook more! It can be generally expected that most quality knives are going to be sharp. I tend to prefer to sacrifice a little sharpness in exchange for the durability and heft of a German style knife as compared to the hard and sometimes brittle Japanese style blades. I also find the German style handles to be more ergonomically fitting for my hands. That being said, here are the reasons why this knife has become my go to chef’s knife. First, the smart ridge feature absolutely works well. Foods do not stick to the blade which makes cutting more enjoyable as well as more safe since you don’t have to wipe the blade with your hands very much at all to remove stuck food. The pro chefs say not to do this but they all do LOL. The granton and hammered blades claim to keep food from sticking but really aren’t that effective compared to this knife. Secondly, the design of the tapered bolster Is incredibly comfortable when using a pinch grip. Lots of control and my hands do not cramp. The handle contour design works well to reduce slipping when cutting with a wet grip which is not recommended but it happens! I find the curve of the belly works excellent when rock chopping. Push chopping and tap Chopping works just fine as well if that’s your preference. The only negatives about this knife I would point out are the ridge does add a little thickness to the blade, so when pushing through something challenging like a butternut squash there are knives that perform better. Also the material used on the handle is nothing fancy. But, for me the pros definitely outweigh the cons by far. The smart ridged design and comfortable handle do it for me. And of course it’s a quality blade. Over the years I’ve bought many shiny new knives, and I always end up going back to this one. Give it a try!

Works as advertised (right hand users only)
When prepping vegetables, they just don’t stick. It actually works. The little raised rib kicks the vegetables off the knife and doesn’t cause any interference with your slicing motion.

Great knife, great value
Got this as a gift for my boyfriend who loves to cook. Was looking at some other knives that were insanely expensive because they looked fancier but this is the way to go for someone who knows what they are doing in the kitchen

Very high quality knife
Why pay $ for a ZWILLING J.A. Henckels knife. They are of the highefst quality. We bought this knife because some of the other ZWILLING J.A. Henckels knives are in out other house. These knives are heavily built and made of fine stainless steel that does not show staining after 40 years of use. This knife has added feature including a heavier tang and a ridge that help stopping thins like onion sticking to the knife after a cut. It came razor sharp.
