Great rugged basic radio with MP3 playback and well made
This is a good quality basic radio with MP3 playback using micro SD, SD and USB. It is quite compact and rugged as described. It looks pleasingly clear. It has one of the best speakers I have come across in this price bracket. Not a cheap 0.5w speaker but one that can carry watts. Consequently the sound is good. The radio is nothing special really, but works well and tuning is light and smooth. The MP3 function is again basic but the sound is really good. It comes with mains power or D type batteries, not supplied. This radio will run a very long time on D type batteries. I remember the days when radios like this would use a PP3 battery, nothing like as good. Very pleased with it. Great radio.

Affordable, good quality radio
I was looking to purchase a portable radio for the bathroom, so I could listen to BBC Radio Three, BBC Radio Four and the World Service on FM.I wanted a radio which was robust in design, simple to operate, aesthetically pleasing on the eyes and would sit well in the bathroom. I wanted a radio with manual rotary dials (frequency tuning, volume control, function selector, band selector) instead of push button operation. I also wanted a radio which was reasonably priced and available in Black, because the colour really does matter. With this in mind, I searched through the website, spent a considerable amount of time looking at all the radios. Most of them were disappointing (poor design, wrong colour, poor display) in one way or another. In due course I found the following Retekess brand and three models, TR618, TR604, TR633 of great interest. My only disappointment, a small one at that, is that it would have been even better had each radio come with a good quality, black leather zipped case thickly padded. I would have been happy to have paid more to include a case.I'm extremely pleased with the purchase.

Ease of use and covers many stations on radio
Love this transistor radio .You can tell I,m of a certain age. I love taking this with me when I'm in the garden .Easy to use much easier than a DAB radiothat I had before.Reception is very good. No problem with this whatsoever.

Decent little radio
Somewhat smaller than I anticipated and the casing much lighter in weight than I thought it would be. Decent sound from speakers -they don't sound too tinny, but they're small, so not going to sound like Jansen studio speakers anyway. The volume and tuning dials are very easy to use, they don't wobble on their spindles and are responsive to turning. The smaller dials are wobbly on their spindles and don't seem particularly robust; this could do with improvement. Battery compartment properly soldered and accepts standard D batteries with secure tension and fitting, and the radio does run on batteries. Carry handle works and feels tight in the housing. The antenna works and pivots easily and well, but isn't very robust, so needs handling with care. Cord could have been 20cm or so longer, but it's adequate and well made.I would recommend this radio overall, but think the price point is a bit high (close to £50 at time of purchase) because the casing isn't very strong and the 2 smaller dials feel flimsy.
