Just received these. Lovely wood box and nice range of color. I am just starting with Sumi painting but look forward to adding these to traditional watercolor work. These may be just the ticket for mobile painting projects. See photo for colors.Good blues and violets. One red is an almost red-violet,nice. I'll post a test sheet when I get it done.

These ink sticks are just what I was looking for. The colors are bright and come in a very useful assortment. When dry on paper, the inks are brushproof and water resistant. You can apply a watercolor wash over them and they will not run, feather, or bleed. They grind easily on both of my suzuris. The pigment particles are too small to bridge up in the slit of a dip pen.The ink sticks came well packed in a flat wooden box and suffered no shipment damage.

I'm beginning in art and hadn't experienced using this kind of ink stick, so I haven't the background to speak on quality. But for myself, I am personally thrilled. These colors are rich and gorgeous. The amount of grinding needed for plenty of ink is so small. Grinding and mixing ink is a calm meditative practice that is helping me to focus and more deeply enjoy creating something of possible beauty. Every purchase I have made from Easyou has been a perfect transaction, and I couldn't be more pleased to find this ancient style, new to me. Thank you!

The colors are very vibrant. The sticks come in a lovely wooden box and are made of quality material. Easy to grind, and has a wide range of color depth. Will definitely purchase again as needed.

Soo many pretty colors. I have to way to "know" they're hand made or what of, I have your word of course but I've no genuine thing to compare it too. In any case I'm glad to have them, they'll be good practice for me and they are gonna last a long long time.

Hukaiwen Vermilion Ink Block Red Inkstick for Calligraphy Drawing Buddhist Scripture Transcription is very nice and thick stick. The colors are vibrant. Recommend for calligraphy writing!

I do like the colors of these ink blocks. The end product kinda reminds me of watercolor a bit.

These arrived in 2 weeks, fully intact and packed really well for shipping! Look exactly as pictured and beautifully packaged. I am just starting to learn sumi and have yet to use them. Not sure if its just the wood box or from the sticks themselves but the sticks smell like freshly cut pine. Very pleasant and no chemical oders. Look forward to useing these!

Certain colors are true to color and require very little grinding with no residue left on the grinding dish and with a consistency of real ink. However other colors leave too much residue thus indicating they may not be the best quality of ink sticks, also they act more like watercolors rather than acquiring the consistency of ink. But they are beautiful to look at. However not worth the 53$ paid

Best ink sticks yet. The fragrance is great and the colors are true and bold and flow great! 5 STARS!
