Worked perfectly for closet without a wallswitch
My closet light metal pull cord finally broke a from the base of the electric socket so I had to look at other options since I don’t have a wall switch for that old closet. This was the perfect solution! Hands free ability to turn a light on via motion sensor!!! Brilliant! It took about 10 - 15 minutes re-adjusting and fine tuning the angle of the sensor “window/field of motion” so that the closet light ONLY turns on when you enter the closet vs. walking past the open door closet! :0)Absolutely LOVE this idea and I’m never going back to those metal beaded pull cords ever again! I bought the 2 pack and I’m still deciding on where to use this 2nd one or maybe I will give to another family member who needs it at their house.I’ve been using this item for many weeks now and it works perfectly each time I walk into my dark closet! Voila! Let there be light!!! :0)FYI - I switched all my lightbulbs to LED and they are fantastic re: energy savings and brightness and longevity! Sooo much better than the old fashioned type non-LED! Light and Life are fantastic! :0)I highly recommend this item for any place you need hands free access to light. Great price point for a 2 pack too! Enjoy!

UPDATED to 5 stars
This would often work as intended - great! Just as often, it would turn the light on when motion is detected, then simply not turn off - totally defeats the purpose. This 'not turning off' problem seemed worse when using a CFL, despite the fact that the item description says it is compatible with CFLs.After just under a year, it ceased functioning altogether. It has a 5-year warranty, so I guess I'll ship it back to them. Maybe the replacement will work properly. I'll update.UPDATE 12/06/12: manufacturer shipped a new one. This one works perfectly. Hopefully the first one was a fluke. Based on this, I upgraded my rating from one star to three.UPDATE 02/10/14: Based on the great performance of the warranty replacement that was sent to me, I bought another for a hall closet. Works perfectly. Maybe the first one was a fluke. Nevertheless, based on the two that I have now, I upgraded my rating from three stars to five.Highly recommended.UPDATE 01/14/14: The one I purchased for the hall closet ceased functioning altogether after less than a year. Based on my experiences, I would say that this item is very unreliable. It's a good thing that it has a 5-year warranty. I shipped it back to the manufacturer - again on my dime. After an extended period of time, the manufacturer shipped a new one. Again, this one works perfectly. Based on this second failure, I am downgrading my rating from five stars to one.If you are looking for a motion sensor that works perfectly - until it soon doesn't - then this is for you. If you are looking to not have to go through the trouble of installing a new one every year or two, move on to something else. I just wish I knew what the alternatives are, so I can purchase those after the warranty period runs out on these.

Survived our -20F winter this season and still working perfectly
Had this for about a month and a half so far. This is the only kind of motion sensor light of this type I could find. I just wanted something easy to install to an existing light, capable of handling low and high outdoor temps, and help us see while walking through our side door at night. This thing worked perfectly for that. Still kicking after a week of -10F/-20F degree weather in January. The motion detection works perfect and has a nice wide sensor angle, even under a large flood light bulb. And it shuts off after a few minutes, never had an issue with this. I have no worry it will work for a long time.I took of 1 start just because I wish the motion sensor attachment could be rotated. If I screwed this into the socket all the way, the motion sensor would be above the light. The manual explicitly states it should be below the light, so I have to unscrew this adapter a half turn for it to be below the light. It still works, the light is just a bit wobbly.Still, it's great. If any of my other outdoor motion sensor adapters go out, I'll be replacing them with this one.

Work great.
It works so good that I ordered one more for the back of the house.

Detects motion, but only close by.
I bought these a week ago to to work with the outdoor floodlights lights at the corner of my garage,1. These are supposed to detect motion up to 20 feet in range. I found that they didn't pick up motion until I was with 10 feet. Not ideal for deterring a thief from breaking into your car. He would have to walk around the front bumper for the lights to go on. I was able to walk around the driveway, up the driver's side, (in direct line of sight with the corner light fixture), and get in my car without these things detecting me. The lights didn't come on until I was pulling the car out of my driveway.2. These are rated for outside use, and claim to be water resistant. I have the light fixture installed under the eves of my garage, so water doesn't get directly on them unless it's a storm. As soon as the first rain fell, these started having issues. They must go into some kind safe-mode as soon as water is detected, because the lights wouldn't turn on anymore after a couple hours of rain. I had to unscrew both the bulb, and the motion detector, town dry them, and reinstall to get them to turn on again.3. I would return these, but unfortunately it comes in the type of packaging that you have to destroy to open. I don't think they would accept my return with shredded packaging.Overall I am disappointed with the product, and I would return them if I could.

I purchased this light motion sensor for inside of my ...
I purchased this light motion sensor for inside of my garage. It does what it advertises... turns on a light when motion is detected. Here are some of the "finer" details I learned after purchasing it that was not made in the description...* The motion sensor can be tilted up or down (up to 20 degrees in either direction), and rotated left or right (up to 90 degrees in either direction)* Light will stay on for 10 minutes* Sensor will not turn the light on if it senses enough natural light already (probably an issue if you're thinking of using 2 of these units in the same area)In my situation, I wanted to use it on the celing of my garage. In order to move the sensor beyond the 20 degree range (so I could properly point it at a door I use to enter the garage), I had to use a hack saw to cut a part of the trim the sensor uses to connect to the main part of the unit. This is the only reason why I'm not giving this device a 5/5 rating.

Not recommended unless you don't have other choices
Not recommended unless you don't have other optionCON:1. The motion sensor is not so reliable as you might assume even if well adjusted;2. After seated or secured, the sensor might not face the right angle;3. Not for outdoor application;4. Bulky and not fitting into limited enclosures;5. ETL listed instead of UL/ULC listed.6. Details need to be improved, overhang at the edge prevents the control from seating.pro:ETL listed, CSA listed;Could be use as parts.
