What a neat little book about a creature that I have never heard of! It is filled with all sorts of facts...about its mythological importance (I found that fascinating!), its environment, its life cycle, its idiosyncracies and the like...just all kinds of interesting information. And the photographs really help to envision this unusual little creature. :-) I think it would be a great book for a science teacher's library.

This book was for my niece and it was informational, yet age appropriate. There were great pictures and she was really excited to receive it.

I had never heard of an axolotl so it was interesting to read about them and see their pictures. A very nice and informative book for children. However, I would suggest not going overboard with the word "cool".

My grandson is very into Axolotls, and this book is perfect for him. Even though the reading level is below what he normally read, the information is great and the pictures are super.

This book is probably written for kids but, I found it very informative with facts I never knew. The photographs and illustrations are exceptionally good. I highly recommend this book!

My daughter age 10 loved this book. She wanted to learn about axolotl for a school assignment. It was fun to read and kept her engaged. All the pictures were a huge plus in her mind. She has a learning disability any nonfiction book she has to read is painful for her. Not this one! We hope the author writes more.

My daughter is a very curious 5 year old whose interests range from Greek mythology to the human body. She saw something about Axolotls on Youtube and became immediately curious. This book provides wonderful photos (she already has several favorite pages) and just enough information for young readers (it says for ages 7-11 but a super curious 5 year old is also part of that audience). There isn't much out there on these interesting little critters, so we were happy to find anything, and this is just right! Really glad we found it. It also includes an email address to send for coloring pages which we thought was very special. A great find!

Aimed at a young fan of axolotl, there are lots of great pictures and interesting short facts. I'd recommend for the younger child in your life just learning independent reading.
