Do you need to glue it together

No! It's all push-fit, but the battery-box sections come loose easily so I glued those together. The motor runs on 5 volt DC current, so it can be powered from a USB socket if you know how to connect one! The whole thing is fairly tricky to put together and requires quite a bit of manual dexterity. It took me 16 hours to complete.
