Question 1

The easy fill port is good for same day refilling but feeders should be cleaned before refilling otherwise. Does the port work well?

I could not get the feeder opened to clean it so had to clean through the port. The port is a nice feature but  so far I am not getting visitors. They go to the older design near by.

Where can I buy a .75” pole?

Question 3

Top has open water in it? Don't insects and birds land on it to drink and insects drown in it?

I change the home made nectar every two days and most of the time, 14 out of 15 times (about a month), the water is bug free.  If there were a dead bug, that is no issue since I have to change the nectar and clean the feeder anyways. As far as birds drinking water from the top, I have never  seen a bird do that.  There is no way to perch on it to drink.

Does this feeder keep bees away?

Remember this, Bees and Wasps both fly, so they can land where they wish. However, for the most part I haven’t really had any real issues with either. I do get an occasional wasp that will stop by ever now and then and try feeding on the bottom side were any nectar may have dripped down during windy conditions. They do not usually hang around long and I haven’t had any nesting issues with either. Now with that said, I don’t know what region you live in and what different types of Bees or Wasps you might have in your area. Where I am in California we are limited. I do highly recommend these feeders over most. (I have 3.) Or try the Aspects, Juegoal or Lulu brand ones. However, these don’t have the ant moat feature. Bottom fill feeders are by far the best ones.  The smaller the nectar capacity the better since changing nectar frequently is best because nectar can spoil quickly depending on weather temps and sunlight exposure. No need to fill a complete 12 - 16oz feeder only to have to throw away 8 - 10oz. It can get expensive. Never use food coloring of any kind. (It can kill hummingbirds). Clear nectar is fine. ( That’s why feeders are colored.) And last but not least, male hummingbirds can be territorial and guard feeders chasing other hummingbirds away. ( I have one who sits in my back yard tree and guards the feeder all day. That’s why I have 3 of them.) So with that said, I hope you found this information helpful.
