You know for how cheap these are they are awesome. We leave ours out all year and we live around all weather types so the durability is it. It brings the perfect amount of shade for our patio so we can stay cool while the kids play outside

It saved my life (probably)
This is not advertised as nor should it be used as a safety device. I had an accident recently when I slipped on my metal roof and slid all the way down and off the side at a very high speed. My husband had installed this sun shade about a month before using the proper anchoring kit. It happened to be there where I fell off the roof, and it caught me and held long enough for my husband to bring a ladder to get me off of it. The fabric had deformed quite a bit where I landed, but over the next few hours with a little sun and wind on it, it returned to its original shape, and now there is no evidence of the impact at all. Again, this is not a safety net, it should not be used as one. It does seem pretty durable though, and the shade it provides lowers the temperature of our yard quite a lot. 10/10

GIANT shade handling high-elevation winds
For summer 2024 I installed an Amagenix shade sail (gray 16x20 curved rectangular) in a vertical orientation to block the afternoon sun from the west end of my home. (Photos are of a rough trial installation before fine tuning a week or so later, but are fairly representative of the final setup.) I had it up for the entirety of our warmest months of June through August. At 7000 feet elevation in the foothills of a mountain range, it is often quite windy, and it's not unusual to have wind speeds of 30-40 MPH (sometimes higher) from time to time. This sail shade passed it's first-season test with flying colors, with no apparent signs of the strain it experienced. To give an idea of the forces involved, during the first month one of my lower anchor points failed during one particularly windy afternoon, and while the wind was still ongoing it required nearly all my strength to pull the corner of the shade back into place to reattach it. That was only the beginning; we had several episodes through the summer when the wind was even stronger. All that said, I should point out that the lines to my anchor points are 5-10 feet long, so there is some give in the system (direct attachment of the shade corners to a solid anchor point, i.e. without at least a couple of feet of cordage in between, is not advised by the manufacturer anyway). Since this was just one season of use, I'll try to remember to update this review after more time with this shade, but so far it looks promising.

Slight size imperfection makes for a sagging Sail Shade.
This is the 2nd 16โx20โ Sail Shade from the same manufacturer. The first one I purchased over a yr ago is the better of the two. The one I just received last week has a bit of an imperfection in the size on one end, like itโs a few inches bigger the 16โ while the other end is almost exactly 16โ. Thus the sail doesnโt stretch uniformly but rather sags more than I would like on one end. Iโm going to need to purchase some different hardware now to attempt to remove the sagging area. I will say the one I purchased over a yr ago has held up extremely well. I have it stretched above my 2002 Toyota pickup truck to protect it from the hot Tucson AZ sun. We get a good bit of wind here but the sail shade shows no sign of aging, ripping or discoloration.

Great cured edge sun shade!
This shade is perfect for partial sun to get through while reducing the temperature substantially! Make the connection diagonal enough for it to pull tight. It is misleading with the pretty curve on the edge.

Installed great!
I bought the 12 foot by 17 foot sunshade for my 12 foot by 20 foot deck. I have this sun shade attached to my existing sunshade mounting points with springs in each corner (see pics). I turned all the mounts in (they were out for the old sunshade). 3 corners use the short spring that's about 3 inches long and pulls with quite a bit of force and the remaining corner uses a longer spring that's about 6 inches long and pulls with less force so it's easier to stretch. I tried putting the same size spring in each corner, but I couldn't pull it into place. Using the longer spring with lower tension in that corner did the trick. This shade lies way more flat than my old sunshade and doesn't require the pole I had to use on the old one. The old sunshade drooped down 2 feet in the center when it was brand new despite there being a lot force holding its edges tight, so I had to use a telescoping pole to hold the center up. This sunshade is made of the same material as my old sunshade and the color is identical. That matetial held up great for 5 years other than the stretching out, and never faded in the sun, so I'm hoping for the same from this one without the stretching out. Ultimately, my old sunshade was drooping by 4 feet in the center after 5 years of use and became unusable even with the pole holding it up. We'll see how this one fares as far as stretching goes, but it's already much better than the old one when it was new and is 1/2 the price of the old one. Since I don't need the pole with this sunshade, I'm hoping it won't be as affected by the wind and won't stretch out so much. It'll stay out all summer, so we'll find out.

Industrial tarpaulin colour
Looks too much like an industrial tarp, not something decorative for the home.

Poor quality vs others.
This shade is not double reinforced along the edge, and it ripped as soon as the wind picked up just a little bit. I have another one from a different supplier and itโs going strong after two years (garden expert).
