I got this to do a quick test on jewelry at estate sales, thrift stores, etc. It works perfectly for that application. It isn't too disruptive on my key chain either. Mostly keeps to itself and doesn't attract unwanted metal.

These are absolutely great. I wish I had found them sooner. I have one attached to my purse so I can take it with me before I go and I have one stuck on my desk to where I can use it where I need it every day.

Handy little magnet for testing precious metal coins. Works as intended. Pretty small size so easy to transport around and also good as a gift.

They work but are not all that powerful. You can "feel" the magnetic attraction but you do not get a super attraction that can clearly be seen by the eye.
