The item did not live up to expectations. It was too long a delay in providing translation and at times did not provide any translations. I just returned from my trip and it did not perform any better than Google translator. It was worse and I was completely disappointed and missed my return date by a day. It is worthless. I would have given it a one-star except for the few times it provided written and verbal translation. I would not recommend it and it placed my safety at risk for the lack of performance. I wish I could get my money back.

The speaker on this device is loud and clear. After I downloaded the app and connected the device to my smartphone, it worked seamlessly. We actually got this for the young people in the family to be able to understand their great grandmother’s German. So I hooked it up to work with an older iPhone and she knows to simply hold the button down on the device, speak after it beeps, then it tells people in English what she wants to say. Since we couldn’t afford much, we thought we’d give this a try and it has been an absolute miracle! The kids have never been able to really understand their ‘GG’ before and it is so simple for her to use. She can speak to her nurse now too!! The person she’s talking to simply holds down the other button to speak back.

Subscription based and it isn't cheap! Online translations work well, but requiring mobile data or wifi to work.

Listen closely folks this item IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK. It's a worthless waste of money. It's nothing but a crappy voice recording devices more-or-less than plays what you say through FREEE TRANSLATORS, you can do this with google in real time for free. I bought this thinking it would be good for in person, and pc and phone. It's utter trash. Never seen anything like it. It is very miss leading, it only works with wooask. Yes it mentions in in the description, but its wordy misleading, that you can use it, very tricky language used, and a simple way, old technic. a real piece of crap app that is very slow and congested. It's horrid. I spend thousands a monthly on Amazon, I don't write reviews like this. BUT THIS ITEM, OMG...So misleading. And Such a piece of crap. WOW...it looks cool, but its trash. I promise you, if I could give it Negative 5 stars I would. They should be ashamed, misleading you to believe you can use this activity. I can not STRESS enough how outraged I am, utter garbage! You've been informed!!!!
