Literally plug and play. Works with my Rasberry Pi and my desktop computer. The range is good for about 30 feet or so, but my router is centrally located in the house making it a non issue. So far I have bought 2 of these and have not had any issues with either of them.

Great value.
Worked out of the box on Ubuntu Linux and windows 10. Signal strength could be better to a router in the other room but given this has such a small antenna, my expectations were pretty low.
