Buyer beware. The buckle is copper with a thin coating of zinc that quickly wears off.
I specifically asked on the seller's listing of an identical belt of a different color: "Is the buckle solid zinc or is it zinc plating over another metal? If so, what metal(s)?" https://www.amazon.com/ask/answer/MxO36ZJYKNOATN/ref=ask_sa_cb_sa_hza?commentPostConfirmId=Mx20F85K3333YOEThe manufacturer replied, "It is solid zinc with nickel free plating as well."That was a lie.The top layer is some kind of a transparent varnish. It started to wear off after a couple months. The next layer is a silver-colored metal. It started to wear off a couple months later. The main material is an orange metal that can only be copper. No other metal has this color. It is obviously NOT solid zinc. The leather is good quality, and I love the color. But the buckle starts to look bad quickly. And the seller is a liar.Buyer beware.

Works perfectly.
I was always told I was allergic to metal and that in order to prevent a sore from staying on the bottom of my gut, I should tuck my tshirts in. I'm a dorky guy and this didn't help things as I wear jeans and tshirts. Now that I'm in my 30s I decide to google this and within 30 seconds I found this belt.Gamechanger.Belt is as good, or better than any I was buying from whatever retailer and it has so far worked wonders. For the first time in 5+ years that sore has healed up and I don't dread itching the scab on my lower belly. Belt looks exactly as pictured- gloriously plain. I'm thankful this version works, but if the coating wears off and another metal is exposed, i'm excited there is also a titanium version available.

Great casual belt
I bought this belt several weeks ago, and it really is an awesome belt. I have several belts from this company, and love them all! The way I like to approach buying things/products: when I find a company that stands out and their products are great or above average, I know to buy from them again and again. With Nickel Smart, I’ll continue buying from them. Enough about the company and now for the belt. The buckle has a nice and shiny look and when the light catches it right places it changes to this really cool darker color (almost black). They say in their description that is “Brushed finish gunmetal gray”. Really nice look to it. Classy! Of course the buckle is Nickel Free, so no allergies here, but I would check this belt out even if you don’t have allergies - it is a good quality belt. The belt itself is made from a solid piece of leather. It isn’t laminated - it is solid. It is roughly an 1/8” thick and has a nice heavy duty feel to it. I don’t think this will crack or break anytime. The leather is also shaded to a bluish, grey color (I guess you could call it Steal Grey), and the edges of the belt are unfinished so you get a really nice contrast from the leather itself. At first I thought that I might have trouble matching it to certain clothes, but I was happily surprised at how many things I normally wear that works with it. Light and dark colored blue jeans and Khaki Dockers - I’m sure there is more, but I wear jeans ALL the time, so I’m happy. What is the best application for wearing this belt - it is a pretty casual belt, so I wouldn’t wear it if a suit was needed. Casual outing, date nights when you don’t need a tie but want to look good, etc.The belt is definitely worth checking out - see how many compliments you can get :-)

No more itchy belly!
My boo developed a persistent and itchy rash on his belly right by the belt line. I was convinced it was from a nickel allergy to his other fancy belts. Surely enough, a few days after switching to this belt, the rash started to subside and is now gone..!This belt is nothing eye-catching, looks professional enough and most of all, doesn't trigger an allergic reaction. He's happy and that makes me happy. Even if the coating on this belt wears off, I'd gladly buy another (or a titanium buckled one). For reference, he's a size 32/33 and I purchased a size 36. Good fit!

This is an absolutely fantastic product and well worth the money I spent
I'm a big guy, I do a lot of sitting which causes a lot of stress on belts and as a result I've gone through all of belts and felt reluctant to spend as much money on a product I have never seen. There is no need to dress the review up more than what others have offered. This is an absolutely fantastic product and well worth the money I spent.*edit* I have recently lost a lot of weight since my initial review and will be needing to buy a new belt soon. I've liked this belt so much that I definitely will be buying another one to fit my new size.

Great nickel free product!!!
I bought this belt a year ago for my husband. I NEVER leave reviews but this product is awesome! He is highly allergic to nickel and every belt he has ever owned has always made him break out in a horrible rash on his stomach. I called the seller to double check that the belt buckle was for sure nickel free. He backed his product and would replace it if it wasn't right. My husband is a metallurgist, he works with metals and has a machine he uses to test what the composition is of all metal products. This belt buckle is 97% aluminum and 3% titanium. Perfect! No nickel!

Belt is great, haven't had any allergic reactions!
Plain black leather belt with a No Nickel buckle. I break out from Nickel based metals on my body, for years I had to tolerate the masses versions of belts with nothing but breakouts. My skin was constantly itching and scaling. With this belt I notice within seconds that it's not reacting to my skin. Definitely would recommend the belt.

Char baked belt in complete tact and worth the money
Even though the price tag says 50+$,I just keep seeing and finding a collective of quality traits that surprise me this belt isn’t north of 99$. I felt and smelled a high caliber grade condition as I first unrolled it from its bag. Durability and strength are top notch. Carbonized char color looks almost like a belt laid out blackened from blistering sun, and took what his rays offered with grace but lost zero shape or density. I’m hard to please and definitely not dissatisfied
