Bought this to replace one that I had to return of a different brand. Straight out of the box before I even unrolled it, I could tell it was much better quality. It's sturdy it warms my seedlings perfectly, and it actually works. Which is a big improvement over the last one I tried.

This Vivosun Seedling Heat Mat has been a game-changer for me to be successful at making sourdough starter. My kitchen temperature fluctuates too much overnight, so this solved the problem. The heat mat keeps the ambient temperature consistently between 70-80° (usually 76) around the clock. The yeast is thriving. Even though the heat mat doesn't get "hot", I put a heat-resistant silicone mat underneath it as a precaution to protect the granite countertop. I also set the starter jar on a baking rack plus a thin piece of wood to keep it from coming into direct contact with the heat mat. I think it will come in handy when making baked goods that use yeast or sourdough to rise.

I have been germinating seeds with success using these heating mats. There is no temperature control, so no bulky electric cords and controls, but the temp has been working fine for me. I have 3 of these. Once the seeds germinate, I move them under a grow light, and germinate more.

Works well... almost too well. Be sure to order a thermostat if you don't want to dry out your babies.

I have this under a small hydroponic garden. The room was not warm enough for the seeds, basil, to germinate. Once I put the mat underneath the seeds started to grow!

This heating pad is excellent for seed starting. I'm getting way more success in seed germination since I bought this heating pad and began using it. This is the second year of using the heating pad and I've saved enough money to pay for it -- not having to buy starter plants. I expect I'll get many more years of use from the heating pad as it seems well built and provides a consistent heating temperature. Great product.

There are numerous items like this available online and most look identical except for the name printed on them. We purchased a Vivosun grow light to get our veggie starts going a little earlier, and this was a bargain to bundle with it. It does the job, no complaints.

Worked well for my seedlings this year. Really saves a lot of time with seed germination. The material is a thin plastic but it’s durable and water resistant.
