Tower Saddle Seat Stool Black Short

Q: Is this the right height for timpani playing?

The height, listed from another website, is 29" for the tall (this product). Compare that to the stool you use now as I haven't measured the stools I (sometimes) use for playing timps. My guess is that's about right for the timpani. The contoured seat will be better than the generic round stool.

Q: Do I pick the short or the tall version? I'm 6'2" 190lbs and just can't decide. My gut says go "tall" because my legs are long but short might be ok?

I'm 5'10" and I got the short. The rails are still barely long enough, so me knees are just high enough to support my guitar. My sense is having it to tall would be worse than having it a little short.

I am 5' 2", and can sit on the seat with one foot flat on the floor comfortably, other foot on the bottom rung. The stool weighs about 17 pounds, and is shipped complete in a sturdy cardboard box. The stool is very nicely made; we did add cane tips to the legs so it doesn't slide on a hardwood floor.

Unless you play in the NBA it is too tall. I have one and I am 5,11 and it is too tall to play guitar without a strap even trying to rest your foot on the rungs. It is still too tall when trying to rest your foot on the first rung and the second rung is too high and too close to the seat to keep your foot on... I wish I would have bought the Roc n Soc adjustable drum throne....Not a particularly well thought out design for a guitar stool...I don't recommend it.
