Exceptional!
Not all chickpeas are created equal. For years, I bought the inexpensive bags of chickpeas from the grocery store. Recently, while stocking my pantry, I decided to look for a larger bag that would last a long time. I came across these and decided to give them a try. I’ll be honest—the burlap bag caught my eye and was a nice touch that helped me decide. Now that I’ve tried these, I refuse to buy any others. The quality of the chickpeas makes a big difference in the final result. The burlap bag has a charming old-fashioned feel, like buying dry goods from a neighborhood market in the 1800s. Once you open the bag, the first thing you’ll notice is how large the chickpeas are. They’re plump even before soaking. After soaking, they become even larger and cook beautifully. I prepare them a couple of different ways. When making hummus, I soak them overnight and then cook them for about 75–90 minutes. They become tender, smooth, and make outstanding hummus. When I’m using them in curries or salads, I boil them for 10 minutes, let them sit in the hot water for an hour, and then simmer them for about 90 minutes. This method leaves them a little firmer, which works well for main dishes. The cooked chickpeas are flavorful, buttery smooth, and delicious in recipes or simply enjoyed on their own as a snack. They also freeze very well after cooking, so it’s easy to prepare a large batch and always have cooked chickpeas ready to use.I also appreciate that they’re organic. From the quality of the product, it’s clear that great care went into growing and packaging them. They’re worth every penny, and I highly recommend them!

Solid A. Been buying them for years.
I've used these for a couple of years now. They are great and clean. Good flavor and cook well. They also keep exceptionally well in the cupboard. I like the chickpeas enough that I am looking at buying some of their other dried goods. I pressure cook them and there is no need to soak them. They cook up well, but when I do soak them they cook smoother for humus. These chickpeas create an incredible broth that is worth selling.

I’d buy it again!
It’s a lot of garbanzo to order for 1 person but I’ll be eating it for my health! 👌 Cooking time was easy, protein content according to research is good, taste is good and adaptable to my mixes… mostly I eat this for good health.

Fresh and Flavorful
This is the only brand of chickpeas I buy. I also buy other Palouse brand grains and legumes. I believe their products are excellent, consistent, and worth the cost. The chickpeas are so fresh that if I let them sit in soaking water for even just a few hours, they start to "pop"-- in other words, they try to sprout! They actually do not need soaking, but sometimes I soak them a bit, and cook them around thirty minutes in the pressure cooker to get a nice, very soft bean for hummus.

Delicious, but be careful of debris.
I love chickpeas, and for the first time, ordered the Palouse brand. I love the burlap bag, the fact that its grown in the US, and that I could get it in bulk at a reasonable price. What I didn't love is discovering a little rock in my bag, but I they tell you to sort through the chickpeas to avoid the possibility of finding debris in your bag, anyway, so... It was a good thing that I noticed this, or I would have definitely lost a tooth!Onto the good stuff. These chickpeas cooked to a really creamy consistency, and much quicker than store-bought chickpeas. My method is to use the "quick soak" method of adding two cups of chickpeas to a large pot, cooking on high heat, allowing them to boil for a minute, then turning off the heat, adding the lid, and letting it sit covered for an hour. Then I drain the chickpeas, refill with water, and cook on simmer. Usually the store-bought chickpeas take another 3-4 hours to cook to the tender consistency I like. These take more like 2-3 hours. Since I love to frequently air fry chickpeas for snacks and not just use them in salads or with veggies, I eat chickpeas a lot and appreciate having so much on hand. But since I DO eat them a lot, a 5lb bag lasted me less than 3 weeks. So I'm going to be ordering the 25 lb bag, which costs less per lb, anyway, over the 5 lb bag.Great chickpeas. Just watch out for them pebbles. ;)

Reliable Source for food
With the food industry being as corrupt as it has been in the last decade.. it’s nice to know there are companies who follow strict rules, and govern themselves to provide safe food, free of toxins and chemicals that are making all of us so sick. Thank you for running a company that makes wholesome, safe food available.

Outstanding chickpeas delivered on time.
These Palouse Brand chickpeas are the best we’ve ever had. They are the large kabuli variety, and the taste and texture is out of this world. We have ordered them several times, and this is the first time we used the seller Nelson Life. The delivery was made exactly as promised.

Excellent quality and service!

Fresh and mild taste
Unlike the Costco chickpeas, these absorb water very well and very quickly - the sign of a great dried legume. Expensive, but if you're looking for fresh chickpeas, these are really good. I'm used to a stronger tasting chickpea... I'll have to do a side x side to figure out whether these are a little less pungent than others.

Amazing quality!
These chickpeas are sooo good. They make amazing creamy, fluffy hummus too. The extra cost is worth every penny! I’ll be ordering again!

Strongly recommended!!!
I can’t praise these enough! If you cook your own chickpeas with these, you’ll never go back to canned chickpeas. I’ve already bought two bags and will be ordering another one very soon.
