Worked great on a stubborn watch case
I had an expensive Seiko Solar Chronograph watch that needed a new capacitor battery. Obviously the back had never been off (you don’t normally need to replace the batteries on these) and it was locked on tight. Once setup it with the right pins the watch back came off first time and I was able to replace the battery and the watch started running straight away. While not the cheapest wrench on Amazon it does look and feel decent quality and with four sets of different types of pins should be able to cope with any watch backs out there. Great buy for amateur watch repairers …

Good jaxa wrench for the cost
Very good for the money. But like using this or a German made version, the trick is being precise and patient. Otherwise it can slip and you got scratches. I use the soft ball tool first and if she no work, this one comes out which when anchored well, has tons of leverage.Recommended.

Excellent money saver!
Ordered for my husband and he can’t stop raving about how great it is! He’s a watch fanatic and spends a small fortune going to the jewellers to have the batteries replaced. Now he’s able to do it himself so this tool has already paid for itself in that alone! He says it’s well made an easy to use. He was even able to repair a watch that wasn’t working. He highly recommends it.

Great tool, solidly built. Will pay for itself the first time you use it!
I ordered this tool after purchasing the smaller version. For the price I found this to be a GREAT TOOL. A lot of people have commented about how tricky it can be to set up the wrench and then use it. Here is my technique:1) If your watch is a metal band and you have the tools, open the band up so you can have easy, unobstructed access to the back of the watch. It will make the following steps way easier and help reduce the chance of you slipping and gouging the back/case/band.2) Once you have determined which tip shape you need to use, mount all three tips in the tool3) Dial the handle so that the lower tip is spaced wider than you will need. That means lower on the tool, more towards the handle. You want the lower tip out of the way while you size the upper two.4) While holding the tool over the back, start dialing the thumb wheel until you can get the top two tips to line up with their respective notches. Since the lower tip was dialed out of the way, you should be able to nest the top two tips fairly easily and accurately.5) Now, with the top two tips seated snugly, start dialing the handle to move the lower tip in. You should have a fairly easy time aligning it since the other two tips are already seated. This third tip is what is going to lock it all together--keep dialing until it seats cleanly into position.6) You should be good to go, so carefully turn the watch back off. If all three tips were well seated properly, you shouldn't have much trouble opening the watch. If you feel like the wrench is slipping out the notches, you are either using the wrong tip shapes or you did not fully seat the tips into the notches when you adjusted the size in steps 4 and 5.Pros:~ Well built and solid construction using good quality metals. The weight of the wrench is the first giveaway of its quality, but once you start using it, you can immediately tell its a well built tool. The threaded rods are tight, with very little slop. The metal has a clean even finish. The knurling on the handle is clean and well done. For $24 I really expected this to be a throwaway tool, but I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality.~ Comes with a variety of tips for various watch types~ Obviously adjustable to fit a variety of watches. This DID fit my larger Nixon Chronicle. I had purchased the smaller version before I read the sizing, so I returned the small one and purchased this XL one.Cons:~ no instructions. Its not rocket science to use, but one sheet of information would take a lot of the guess work out of it~ The box isn't anything to write home about, but it will keep things organized. If you are like me and want to store all your watch things in a nice box or case, I find this cardboard box to be an eyesore. That is as much personal preference as anything else so take it will a grain of salt.Summary:Since the XL sizes for 17-55mm, it will cover all the same watches as the smaller one, PLUS larger watches. It functions perfectly once you know how to adjust it properly.

Works fine
I don't have any experience using a professional quality tool as a comparison to this one, but it worked fine opening the back on my Large Fossil watch. It's a bit fiddly to use. Just make sure to align with the notches in the watch case and tighten the thumb wheels, otherwise it slips off easily.
