Q: No stick shift, no speeds, coaster brake? Nice bike, but is not the same as original Schwinn Krates.

Coaster brake Krates WERE available from 70 to 73, no front drum brake which this has. I bought one of these as although it has no 5 speed rear and shifter, it was far less in price than an original 5 speed. It's a bargain.

Q: Please bring back the 5 speed!

I'm sure this can be easily converted into a 5-10-15-or 20 speed with the right research of parts. I USED TO MAKE these same exact bikes from old junkyard parts back in the '70s in NYC, they were everywhere! I myself had a 15-speed I made that had a 20-inch rear and small "Mudgee" bike wheel up front and we'd cruise lovely all over the hood! Great days... I'm going to see if I can build one again if I have the time. A great hobby for those wanting one. Good luck!

Q: Is this a limited edition?

In 1999 they made 1,999 of the orange krate replica and they are limited edition with paper work. I’m guessing these are not numbered 🤔
