Can I engrave the name of the person I love on the bottom?

No, the “metal” is actually a heavy plastic, painted to look metallic.

I would like to know if it needs to be assembled by myself? Will its color fall?

This beautiful hour glass comes fully assembled. I do not know the answer to the second part of your question.

What are the exact dimensions of the item? (The product description only has size of box it is shipped in).

Roughly 22cm tall from base to tippy top, base is 8½cm wide, the turning mechanism is also 8½cm wide, and the sand dial bulbs are each 5cm long (not including metal decorations on their tops)

Can this rotatable bronze hourglass decorate my study and bedroom?

Absolutely. I got it for my work desk as a decoration but it is also practical.
