Small, handy, and easy to use
We have the standard oral thermometer but wanted to get another thermometer due to Covid-19. We wanted something we could use right away without out too much trouble operating it.The thermometer comes with an owner’s manual, a bag for the thermometer, a quality inspection certificate, and a registration card. The manual is written fairly well with a few grammar errors, much less than others. Besides the operating section, it also has sections on warnings and precautions, temperature-taking tips, cleaning, and troubleshooting. The manual says two AAA batteries are “optional” but it didn’t come with them so you will need a couple on hand. There are markings for how to insert the batteries but are small. Those with poor eyesight might have a hard time seeing them. Personally I think it should have a picture in the manual on how to insert the batteries and just not one on the website. It’s very easy to use. Pull the button, wait for the self-check to complete and there are dashes on the display, point it at your forehead, pull the button again, and in about a second, you have are temperature reading. From power on to the first temperature check can take as little as 6 seconds. There are some other features with it that aren’t or poorly explained. You can set it to “room” or “objects” mode. When it is set to this mode you can measure the temperature of objects, rooms, etc. I checked this against a couple of other thermometers and it appears to be within 0.1 degrees. It comes with two temperature presets that will trigger the orange and red LEDs. If you have a low-grade fever (37.5C/99.5F) the orange LED will light. A high-grade fever (38C/100.4F) will light the red LED. If you wish to change these set points you canOverall, this is a great product. It is small enough you take almost anywhere. Contactless temperature checks are all over the place and having this will make life much easier and safer. If you have kids, you need this.

Unit Is Accurate And Easy To Use
I just received this item today. I think that I found out why there are many commentaries stating that the unit would not 'turn on'. The unit has a standard electronic set-up of having springs on one end, and the metal 'dots' on the opposite end. In most electronic gadgets this would mean that the battery base goes on the spring side, and the top of the battery contacts the metal dots. The instruction book states to look at the battery top, for the '+' sign, and insert the battery per this mark. Well, there is a '+' on one side and nothing on the other battery side, which could give you the impression that both batteries are to be inserted with the top up, facing the metal dots on top. The reality is that the battery on the side with the plus IS the one to be up, while the top of the battery in the opposite slot is supposed to face DOWN. They did not take the time to put a '-' on the opposite side, which would have made things immediately clear. I am willing to bet that people in the past did the same thing that I did today initially. They saw two springs inside of the unit and automatically figured that the bottom of BOTH batteries went into the unit. The unit would not appear to work then, solely because the batteries were inserted incorrectly.I tested the accuracy of the unit by taking my temperature with my regular thermometer, and then immediately with the unit. The temperature was accurate. I then did something that I had been curious about for a good while. I put the unit into house mode and checked the temperatures in all the rooms in my house. This verified something that I thought was happening, there were temperature differences between all the rooms in my house, by up to six degrees. Due to the age of my house, I had been feeling that the duck works in my attic needed attention, and now I know for sure that things are not right up there. Some vents are apparently no longer sealed properly. I will get this project done before summer comes! I thank this nifty little temperature gun for verifying what I thought was happening. I will also be using this gun to take outside temperatures, when soccer play starts up again, to know when to have teams take a water break, due to very hot weather, or if necessary to 'call' a game, if the weather is too warm. This is especially critical for turf fields, as they generate a LOT of heat. If the temperature is 101 degrees, it is MUCH higher for a player standing on a turf field.

Excellent Thermometer
I bought this thermometer for my own use and for my family members to use.It is easy to use and accurate in terms of reading the temperature. The device is very light weight and the grip handle is thick enough to hold comfortably.I would recommend to have the device (at least one) in the household family especially with thispandemic of covid-19 situation. It's more like a peace of mind device. Love it!!!!

One button DOES NOT mean it's easy
"Easy to use" my butt. This thing has a dozen features but only one button and unclear directions. Why would I EVER need to check room temp with a forehead thermometer??? Why on earth would I need it to keep track of 5 different users??? I need this for ONE PURPOSE ONLY, and in the time it usually takes to figure out how to just take a dang temperature, I could have driven to the store and bought a cheap one that actually works exactly when I need it to. All the directions and reviews make it sound like it "just works", but trust me, it doesn't. The software on this thing was either designed by committee, or by a space alien.

The accuracy of the thermometer reading is not right.
I thought I was buying an accurate forehead thermometer, but I can’t seem to get an accurate reading. I have taken the temperature of several people and it reads 97.9 each time or lower. Some showed temperatures of up to 102 on oral thermometers. This little puppy is going to have to go back if it can’t be trusted.
