L-theanine is God sent!!
THERE IS NO DRUG INTERATIONS WITH L-THEANINE! Someone in reviews said there was. (L-Theanine) not (theanine) is very widely researched and I take it it has been a God sent! The ONLY caution it gives is it "can" not "will" but (can) lower blood pressure (never has mine) so...IF you have low blood pressure OR are on BP medication that is the only medication it says "mught" interact with because "L-Theanine" "can" lower blood pressure never once does it use the word "will" . Oh I forgot it also says it can reduce effectiveness of of any med that is considered and (upper) example my husband is on medication for narcolepsy narcolepsy is condition where you have trouble staying awake so he is on a medicine that is considered an upper it helps him to stay awake if he were to take l-theanine with his medication it would probably make his medication ineffective now it wouldn't harm him if he took it it just would make his medication not effective to keep him awake. Same as caffeine it pairs well with caffeine if you use caffeine and l-theanine for concentration however if you use l-theanine with your coffee/energy drink your probably not going to get the upper effect aka energy from the caffeine source. However l-theanine is neither an upper or a downer when you take it you won't feel different necessarily I never have and I've been taking it for a couple years I do notice anxiety levels much more manageable Etc I as an adult take 800 to 1000 mg a day not at all at once and that's for more severe anxiety in 200 mg increments every 3 to 4 hours however I have taken as an adult 600 mg at one time and then waited another three to four hours to take my other doses. Again when I take l-theanine I dont feel this wave come over me its subtle so it totally helps with the anxiety and panic attacks. I have had both when on it RARELY BUT it wasn't as intense and diminished quickly. Read about these little almond shape Amy things you have in the front of your brain the beginning of the word starts with Amy I don't know how to say the word to put it in here but these little almond-shaped things in the front of your head are responsible for your fight or flight response and sometimes ours overreacts and perceives things is fear even though they're not my different if you see a bear you should run from that be afraid from that but you shouldn't be afraid of some other things people have anxiety and panic attacks over hope this helps God bless you all!

game changer
I've tried a few different brands of this supplement. Nature's Trove, sold here on Amazon, seems to work as well if not better than others. There are subtle differences, so I would say if one brand doesn't work for you try a different one. Some brands have fillers, etc.So a bit of history. I've suffered with generalized anxiety disorder since I was a teenager and I'm now in my 60s. The anxiety can reach panic levels during stressful times. My anxiety is bad enough it can disrupt my sleep, and I can have a hard time focusing due to a racing mind.I originally tried 100 mg of this product and I would say it was barely perceivable. As I recall I gave up on it. I think it wasn't until a year or so later that I tried a 200 mg tablet, and even there I think it took four or five days before I actually noticed the difference. It was a YouTube video/review that talked about taking a few days before it really took full effect. Well, that reviewer was right. About a 4-5 days I noticed a definite reduction in my anxiety. It wasn't as though I felt drugged or anything, just that I didn't suffer from the extremes. This was most evident when I had coffee.I would normally get kind of jittery, muscles would tighten up, heart rate would go up, but with the L-theranine that was gone or significantly reduced at least. I could focus more clearly, and my love for coffee went up immensely.I really noticed the effect of this for an upcoming international flight. I get rather extreme, near panic attacks over flying international. It's kind of a claustrophobic thing, combined with leaving behind the security of my house and familiar surroundings. Happens every single time to me, even though I fly international every year. The anxiety has been bad enough I've canceled flights before. My anxiety can manifest itself in physical ways, as in things like backaches, muscle spasticity, sour stomach, etc. I hate to fly.I went up to 400 mg. one tablet when I first woke up and then another one after lunch. all I can say is wow, it made a huge difference. if your anxiety is preventing you from doing activities in your life, it's a problem. I would definitely say the supplement is worth a try. A game changer for me.Side effects? For the most part I had no side effects until I was on these for about six weeks. I then started experiencing nausea on a daily basis, and I also noticed some watery stools. This particular supplement is known to cause gastrointestinal upset. If you start having problems, or have problems from the get-go, take it with some food. If taking it with food doesn't solve the problem, then I would say to cut your dose down to 100 mg, and then take twice a day or three times a day. As I said I had no problems for about six weeks and then it hit me. I did notice digestive problems first, but it really wasn't super problematic. The nausea on the other hand was not fun.Once again I think this supplement is definitely worth trying if you suffer from anxiety or have problems sleeping or staying asleep. I would think for most people 200 mg would be a good starting dose, but once again if you start experiencing gastrointestinal discomfort, the 100 mg tablets are nice. And if you're expecting this supplement to make you feel super sedated or something like that it really doesn't work that way. It just cuts off the extreme anxiety. If you're wanting something a little more sedative things like ashwaganda or kava may work better for you.And just to summarize what this supplement does for me at least: Better sleep with less disruptions. I almost never have a point where I can't get back to sleep, and this was definitely not the case before.Less racing thoughts, better focus. I'm able to live more in the "now". A number one problem with anxiety is going through ruminating what if scenarios, imagining the worst, etc. If you can stay in the here and now that helps immensely and this supplement helps with that. I didn't realize before taking this supplement that I had a bit of an overactive bladder. I notice I go less now. Reduced appetite, which was very welcome.Side effects: nausea/gastrointestinal issues. Lack of motivation if you take too much. Yes this stuff can reduce anxiety to a significant degree if you up the dose. Start with the minimum dose and work up. You can also combine with ashwaganda or kava. I have some chewable kava tablets (50mg), and these can be great if I'm having trouble falling asleep.Best of luck to all and please share your experience here!
