Opened and missing items
Arrived opened and missing components... at least it was enough left to get a somewhat (and delicious) complete mre experience.

Beef Goulash is on my top 3
Smokey flavored well seasoned beef says it all. It's not a gourmet meal by any means. But if you heat this MRE properly? You'll find the flavor to be pleasing. The patriotic sugar cookies are DELICIOUS.The price of MRE's are out of control. From a $5 to $9 a bag price range just a couple years ago from $18 to $25 now...As prep food, I'd buy cannisters of Gatorade and look up either Moubtain house or PEAK refuel freeze dried foods. The MRE has priced itself to being a novelty treat to peak your curiosity. It's no longer cost effective to purchase these for survival.

Great Entree, Medium Component Selection
This main, the Beef Goulash, is one of the better entrees on the current U.S. MRE menu. It is flavorful but not overspiced and is a nice change from the typical fare in most American rations. The rest of the components are fine if a bit lackluster--- the applesauce is actually quite good and the packs of PB&J very nice but the white bread meant to accompany them is what you'd expect: dense and doughy. Mind you, I've had worse shelf-stable bread, but crackers would've been better and less of a rock in the gut. The sugar cookies are a tasty & crunchy surprise and the cocoa always a winner. A good meal, just a little uninspired.
