These are just standard relays. The circuit you are controlling is NO (no power) until a control signal is received.

Can this be used to replace the relay on aftermarket HID kits?

i was wondering that too, and I did some checking and think they will,,, the relay on the HID kit is 12 v 40 amp, 4 pin, and they look the same, and looks like the specs are the same
