Q: Is the background light like some of the photos or darker and antique-ish like the full size photos?

Mine look like the one on the black chair, lighter for sure than that full-size photo. Very nice, good weight, not flimsy.

Q: Is the color in this throw blue or does it look purple/violet (which the picture seems to show)?

This item has both blue and violet purple. It also has greens and deep reds. Amazon is not using the image that I have submitted of the actual item. Please contact the seller, Blankets, and I will email an actual picture of the product so you can see more detail and colors.

Q: What are the dimensions?

The measurements for the Acanthus Spectrum Blanket are 70 inches by 52 inches. These measurements include the two inches of fringe that are on each side of the throw.

This Blanket is made from individual threads. I bought 2 in December of 2015. I wash them every couple of months. They still look great.
