I use this to remove knives from my heat treating oven. It works well, and the handles are close enough together to be transferred to one hand after grabbing the knife. Exactly what I need, but I feel that it is capable of much rougher use than I subject it to. Good tool for the price.

Used it for a few knives now, with a gas forge. Strong and durable.

I metalsmith between 2 and 4 hours a day and when I started I purchased a general set of tongs. I found myself lacking something that could open wide in the mouth and had long enough 'lips' to actually hold metal that wasn't in a standard flat stock configuration. These fit that bill perfectly. I've used them to hand forge go mai damascus, work with 3 inch diameter round stock, and 2 inch wide bar stock. These things grip like a beast. A must-have tong for any metalsmith.

Pretty good product but the teeth on the jaws wore out quick and don’t seem to grip as well after a few months of use. I use this product maybe 2-3 times a week.
