My neighbor's Ford F150 Truck had air that was stuck in the dash. You could hear the air trying to get out the vents. Once you remove the old operator you can insert a tool that is supplied to manually move the blend doors. Since the operator is keyed and fits only one way you can clock the doors to agree with the operator. It seems backwards and it is! Once inserted the operator is easily attached with a few screws, a molex control plug and you're done. Works great and the neighbor is happy.

Used to repair the primary ventilation baffle actuator on a 2016 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew. This actuator is located above the gas pedal under the dash. Moderately difficult to replace. Have to lie on back, easy to drop screws and tools into void on side of center console. A rag or towel placed underneath will at least keep loose items in the footwell. Difficult part is lining up the actuator position with the control and baffle position. Saw a YT video where the guy plugged the new actuator in and operated the dash controls. With that position known, it's a simple matter of lining up the baffle position with the indent on the actuator. Overall, worked great, $15 for what probably would have been a $200 repair at the dealer.

Never worked amd disappointed. Driver temp (dual climate) was stuck on heat. When installed, must have just manually swapped to cool and thought it worked. Now that it's cooler outside, actuator is stuck on cool and won't heat. Can smack the unit and it will work. Defective. No warranty. Pay a few extra for OEM.

Dorman’s aftermarket version uses reinforced plastic gears for better longevity than some generics, though not quite OEM-durable. It’s half the price of OEM. We will see how long it lasts. Took about 30 minutes to replace in 2019 F-150
