For the last 5 or 6 years I've had a painful situation where the toe next to my little toe curls under the middle toe and I've improvised prosthetics using foam toe separators and paper sports tape trying to get the toe to behave. I saw two different podiatrists and told them that if amputation of the last segment was the only solution I'd be ok with that and they recommended using toe separators like girls use when they paint their nails 'til they're dry. That worked as long as the separators were in place but I can't wear shoes with those in place.As a last resort I recently saw a different podiatrist who said that amputation was not warranted and he installed a unit very similar to this and I got immediate results and have been very happy with this simple fix. Here's some advice: 1. These are designed for 'custom fit' by adjusting the lace that goes over the top of the toe but with arthritis in my back, kness and hips it's very painful to adjust these each time so once I get the right spacing I commit it by taping down with sports paper tape. I've been using the same one for several weeks and just wipe it down with a moist cloth each night.2. I tried to economize by buying the all-in-one-piece silicone ones but within minutes the strap was cutting off circulation in my toe...no way to adjust so just a waste of money.I'll keep buying these because they work so well.

Absolutely love this! I’ve tried to go with out this and it is a nightmare. If I don’t use this I get severe knee and hip pain that is so bad it causes me to cry. It is very durable. I don’t feel it is on.

Good idea... But... I found these (Left + right) too hard and uncomfortable. Also, with just the one central elastic strap, I found that it did not actually stay in place, but rotated uncomfortably. Will try a gel type cushion with several toe rings to hold it in place...

The does help with the middle toe that curls under the second toe

Toe loop is too large it slides around. Solid part that goes under toes is too small so it too slides around. Plus it is uncomfortable and hurt toes!

I've known I had bunions all my life so I'd always made sure I avoided wearing shoes that were pointed or with too high of a heel that put pressure on the bunion. I also never took the time or spent the money to have bunion surgery. Now that I'm older, the hammertoes are a very real and extraordinarily painful thing, and I can't have surgery because I also have "veinous insufficiency" . One podiatrist told me he wouldn't see me (and has since been fired from the clinic I go to). The much nicer podiatrist saved me by showing me this and one other item on Amazon to solve to handle this problem. The other product helps to keep it the big toe and the next toe separated, but the beauty of this one is that it does actually hold the 2nd toe (the one that is the hammer toe DOWN, and rubbing the that knuckle on against the top of the shoe is what is crippling. I am so grateful this and for my dear podiatrist that showed it to me. It also helps that they're very cost-effective and so easy to use. They do the trick!

I have a hammer toe that developed a diabetic ulcer on the end. It wouldn't heal because the hammer toe kept irritating it and breaking it open as I walked. My podiatrist recommended this product.This did the trick and the ulcer closed up in less than 2 weeks.I ordered one size smaller because my toes are short. Fits perfectly. The strap made my middle toe turn red until I stopped pulling it so tight. It stays in position inside my sock and shoe no problem.I've been alternating between two of them for over three weeks and they are both holding up fine. The felt surface is just starting to show some wear from walking on them.
