Unique speaker boosts volume on your phone or laptop with decent sound quality. No muss, no fuss.
Finally! Hats off to Leadsound for being the first company to make a quality version of this type of mini-speaker (there's a super cheopo speaker of this type (white and t-shaped) that's been on the market for years and it is totally useless). By "this type," I mean a tiny speaker that has no cords and connects directly to a laptop or phone by simply plugging it into the head phone jack -- it basically becomes an extension of the laptop or phone. It's true, that you're not going to host a rave with this thing or even totally "rock out" in your living room, but considering it's size, it delivers a decent sound for situations where you need a super portable, super simple speaker. I use it for two things: 1) boosting the volume on my laptop. Even at full volume, the speakers on my lap top are weak. Sometimes while listening to a video, I find myself straining to hear. This solves the problem -- I started by buying one to make sure it worked well (and it does -- way better than I expected). Now I bought a second one and I simply roatate them -- one is charging while I'm using the other. I just swap them out about once a day. 2) I use this for listening to audiobooks and podcasts while doing the dishes -- it boosts the volume of the phone enough so I can hear the audio over the running water. So you might ask, "Why not use a mini-bluetooth speaker" -- those have their place, and I have used them in the past for both of the applications I described -- but bluetooth is notoriously "fussy" (at least for me). Every so often the bluetooth cuts out or won't connect without repairing, etc. I've also used mini-speakers that connect via a cord, but that is not as clean and simple a solution as this speaker -- with this little guy, you just plug him in and "bam" he works and you can carry you phone with you while you listen! A couple other notes -- one reviewer mentioned a short battery life. I feel for him, but that hasn't been my experience -- maybe I listen on a lower volume. I haven't actually "clocked" the battery life, but it seems to go at least several hours -- long enough for my purposes. Another reviewer mentioned that if there is no input for a few minutes you have to turn it back on. That's how I use it so the batteries last longer. But if you don't like that, you can override the "battery-save" mode, by pushing and holding the on button for several seconds when you turn it on. This speaker has a real quaility feel -- as soon as you pick it up, you can tell it's well made. I especially like the on/off button which is a big push button that basically covers the whole bottom of the unit -- it has a super cool, quality feel. You might think this seems a little pricey for such a small speaker, but it's definitely worth it. This would also make a unique gift to anyone who listens to audiobooks or who travels a lot and would like a tiny speaker to use in their hotel room just to give them a little better sound and volume than their phone alone.

Better than youโll expect, but not perfect.
This product is impressive. Why? Well first off, itโs 16 bucks and sounds better than the money. If you want to read the jist of this review, skip to the pros and cons. Itโs using some clever features as well. The back of it is a button, but also is a passive radiator, which you could think of as itโs bass amplifier. It vibrates intensely, and you can hear some of the upper bass. It will make your phone vibrate more than a call will, depending on your phoneโs model. It will distort at high volumes, however. Pros: *Sounds good for 16 bucks *Compact *usb rechargeable *easy to use; turn on, plug and play *loud. Very loud. Cons: *Isnโt perfect, it distorts at high volumes *the speakerโs radiator is vulnerable and can get damaged if you are not careful Overall, this product is amazing. It sounds great, and reminds me of something Bose would make if they downsized their next portable speaker. If Bose got in on making something similar to this, considering their achievement with the Soundlink Mini 1&2, with a price tag likely around 60 bucks, they could have another great product as well. โSoundlink ultra micro,โ Iโd say. Should you buy this? Yes, if you want something just to amplify your phone with. Itโs got some bass, mostly lower mids and upper bass. At 16 bucks, itโs worth it even if you hardly use it.

Better then you would you think!
I didn't have a lot of hope for this tiny speaker when I ordered it. I just wanted small, attachable speaker for my iPod for the times I didn't want to go to the trouble connecting my bluetooth transmitter. I just wanted it for podcasts and things of that nature. I was sure it would be low volume and tinny. I was very pleasently surprised. It was a little bit larger then I thought it would be. About the size of a golf ball, but the sound was pretty good for that. It's not something I would use for long stretches for music, but for what it is, a small, portable speaker that attaches really easily, it works great. It looses a point because if you have it top volume it gets distorted, but other then that, I couldn't be happier. Good job.

This is not a Bose but it does the job.
This item works well for me for what I wanted. First, I was not looking for a great sound like you'd get from quality speakers. That being said, the sound was adequate for me. I wanted a small speaker to add some volume to my cell phone when I visited patients. For me a plus was having an item that could fit in my pocket when not in use.. I was happy to see that this one worked well. I didn't want a speaker that would be so loud as to disturb others. So, long as you control your phone volume, it is not obtrusive. I have a Motorola G6 so it's a fairly new phone model. The speakers in the phone are okay but I deal with a lot of elderly folks and the extra volume works well. It's battery lasts and lasts. Of course, I am not playing it non-stop. I find it is also helpful if there is a need at home to hear a speech on the web or something similar. I find that it helps make that much easier to hear. In conclusion, if you are looking for something to make your music sound good, this is not probably what you want.

I discovered the speaker to have great sound for such a small speaker
After reading the detail on this little speaker I ordered 6 of them for gifts. I kept one for myself to use. I discovered the speaker to have great sound for such a small speaker, however, when plugged into my iPhone 7 the connection was not real secure. Additionally, I carried the speaker in my purse along with my iPhone only to discover that the soft cloth speaker carrying pouch did not protect the speaker from items in my purse touching the fragile silver speaker in the center of the unit. Why in the world did this speaker come with a cloth carrying pouch instead of a small hard case that would prevent the unit from damage to the touch through the cloth. I would love to return the other 5 speakers and search for one that comes with a hard case. The speaker I'm using is so damaged just from carrying in my purse that it is really useless. What is the Return policy on this item as the cover for it does not protect the unit.

Crazy little thing that works great
I took a chance and am totally delighted with this crazy thing. It is not audiophile sound and I donโt care about that. What I need most is more volume. Itโs just a basic, small, portable speaker with good, surprisingly loud sound. Itโs the width of a golf ball and as though the ball was flattened out on the top and bottom. It turns on and off with a thumb press on the bottom of the device. I kept pressing the top; nope, itโs the bottom. I totally appreciate that it turns off automatically after about 5 minutes of no music. My other portable speakers have to be manually turned off or the battery drains. Itโs easy to plug into just about any device that has an audio jack. I use it on my PC, my iPhone, my Sansa Clip and my Fire tablet. Another positive is there is no cable to deal with (other than when charging). Very happy. Kudos to whoever designed it!

Not as good as I expected
The instruction manual said NOT to touch the aluminum piece on the front of the speaker as this IS the actual speaker. however, it looks as if it was dented in a few places during delivery. I don't believe this will interfere with the sound of the speaker, which is very good for such a small device. In addition, the instructions did not state to put the speaker in first and then turn on the MP3 player. So at first, I did not think the device was working. I could not rate the battery life as I have only had this device for a few days. The volume control is controlled by your device (ie, MP3 player, Iphone, etc) Overall, this is a pretty good device for the size and cost.

Speaker fills the truck cab with sound.
Received today. If the item burps I will amend my review. Read the instruction first. I tried turning it on and listening, etc., couldn't get it right. I simply read the very short instruction manual and all was clear. Very easy to recharge, very easy to operate. Has a power save mode that turns off after 5 minutes of no use. That wouldn't work for me. I purchased this product as a listening device for my tom-tom navigation program on my iPhone. I use tom-tom on the hiway and there are periods of silence mush longer than 5 minutes. Press the on button until the led flashes three times and it's on constant. 8 hours constant on and 45 minutes recharge time. Tom-tom is more accurate and user friendly than Google maps but the iphones speaker is lacking in my truck in volume at hiway speeds. This little speaker blows the iPhone speaker away. It's clarity and volume far surpasses my expectations. I have poor hearing and I need to turn down the volume to a comfortable listening level. Maybe a less than maximum volume means a power savings for more than 8 hours? We will see. The extra weight is negligible as I have A very strong magnetic iphone dash connector. Comes with a self closing bag for storage but I'll use that as a container to store an extra set of earphones. So far an excellent purchase.
