I have been having so much trouble lately with video not getting through from my input devices to my home theater and have been getting little or no help from vendors. I decided to do a little digging and try to solve the problem myself and I came up with the solution. It seems that the old analog units that use the triple RCA cables only work sometimes or do not work at all on the new digital amplifiers that are used for the surround sound systems. Even though they have RCA inputs on the amps they may not work. That seems crazy, but it is true. The audio may work, but not the video and you may have to do all kinds of things to get them to work. But along comes this neat little box. It converts the analog signal and the RCA plugs into a digital signal and an HDMI plug for an easy fix. (and it works). They also make a reverse box that converts HDMI to RCA. It does require power from a USB cable which you can get from your amp or a telephone charger. Believe me, it is a great fix for your analog device to work on your digital TV.

Quite honestly, I don’t know how these things are supposed to work, but it definitely did it’s job without issues so 5 stars here! One of my patients at a nursing home bought herself a portable DVD player so she could watch in her bed without disrupting her roommate, but also wanted to be able to hook it up to the TV sometimes. I’m not tech savvy so it took me forever to figure it out, but no one else was helping her. So far, so good - she is really enjoying her new toy!
