Such a cute book! Unique examples included
This book is so aesthetically pleasing, love the cute designs. It also includes unique business examples that I wouldn't have normally heard of. Pretty inspiring to see how different products/business areas can prosper.

Mediocre.
This is not really insightful or inspiring in the way it could have been. All the makings of a great book that the world of entrepreneurs need are there but it never comes to fruition because of what are essentially half-hearted, fairly superficial articles. A wasted opportunity.

Mostly self congratulatory. Not very inspiring.
I normally like Monacle products even if they are very much overpriced. This particular book was at Chapters covered in plastcic wrapper- I hate that - it basically tells me dont open the plastic until after you have bought it because we know you will be disappointed. So I decided to buy it on Amazon hoping it would not come in Plastic. But it did. Why do they do this? In this day and age of too much packaging and banning of single use plastics. So I unwrapped it and you know I bet the plastic will end up in some landfill by a stream whereupon it will make its way into the ocean and kill a turtle or something. Anyway I opened the book and I was mostly disappointed again.Other Monocle books are somewhat inspirational but this one is mostly just self congratulatory - "Ooh look at what I did. Aren't I smart". The only business idea I liked was the girl who created massively luxurious traveller bags for men with a special place to put your stapler etc. The rest weren't up to much and definitely did not inspire me. I can see why they put the plastic on it now. And so once again my theory was correct.

Aggregation of interviews without much depth
I found the book to be boring and just using the typical stereotypes/startup tips without much depth. It does feel very much as if someone cut out pages from the magazine and just sticked them together in a book.If you are after practical startup advices or stories, there are better books out there. If you are just curious about the book, or if you fancy reading all their magazine interviews into one single book then this is it.The positives:- Neat presentation, the book is visually pleasant, similar to Monocle magazine.- Stories and tips are kept short, so it is easy to read, put down and pick up again. The negatives:- There is a section with advices from 'experts', this is shallow in nature and the advices are not that helpful (if you read this book with the intention of picking up practical tips for a startup). If read only for curiosity, then I suppose this is all fine.- There is a whole section on locations, if you wanted to travel and set up in other countries or cities. Again this is quite shallow, each city is given two paragraphs and a pretty picture. A bit unsure on what this section is supposed to add in value.- The last section is about success stories, each story is given 2-3 paragraphs and a pretty picture.
