Very well built and easy to set up
Set this up for the first time the other day. It rained an inch that night and the next day with some gusty winds. Not one drop of water inside the tent. No issues with the high winds and everything is constructed very well. Easiest set up I’ve ever had with a canvas tent! From the box to completely set up in under 30 minutes (tying the guy lines took the most time) only complaint is the pockets that hold the door frame could be fully sewn so the pole doesn’t slip through. Other than that can’t wait to get out and use it!

A worthy Investment for the Basecamp Maker.
I don’t think I’ve ever written a review before. But i absolutely love this tent. My girlfriend had never been camping before but had always wanted to. The outdoors is a huge part of who I am and how I grew up, so I didn’t want to put her on a backpacking trip up to Half Dome and completely alienate her from the experience. This tent was my way to ease her into the woods. And holy crap does it ease you in, I mean, people. You’re bringing a house into the outdoors. And an incredibly well made house! All of the poles stayed solid even through rougher winds., the floor material is good solid and waterproof (although I do recommend a good footprint for rougher terrain). All of the stakes, guy lines, and tensioners hold up to a good solid pounding through rock and gravel without deformity. The zipper constructions are beefy, super solid, a quite smooth when you take into account the amount of tension on them. As for the price, I buy top of the line gear but even this price made me a bit hesitant. Definitely for a brand I hadn’t heard of before, but this made my girlfriend so happy and me right along with her. She can’t wait to go camping again and now she’s planning our next trip! I got more than my moneys worth out of this for sure.

Great tent great value
Pretty happy with this tent. Study in the wind stays warm with tent stove nicely. Quality materials it seems so far. Zippers are kinda a pain. But I'm hoping they will ease up with use. The waterproof bag that it comes in was not waterproof . On my first use the tent itself was waterproof right out of the box . Used it on a 5 day backcountry ATV trip. The 4 meter tent has good space for my girlfriend, myself, wood stove, double cot and gear with plenty of room left over to stack a night's worth of firewood and still have room to move about. Very pleased with this tent

Tour the outside and inside
I LOVE this yurt/tent. I purchased the 16’ size just for me. I’m camping in the outdoors during the winter for an extended period of time while I work remotely so it is perfect for me. First morning after setup, got a rain welcome and boy - this yurt held up greatly. The damp material did not leak inside the tent… however, the seam lines of the tent on the exterior were the channels that led water in. After the material dried, about a week later, a massive rainstorm came through… I mean flooding & everything and I was dry as a bone… best sleep of my life. It rained for about 3 days and by day 3 I noticed the same issue. It’s an extremely easy fix that starts with setting up your tent correctly. You need to put your back into it and make sure your guidelines are tight, not creating any creases so rain water cannot pool at the seams and get inside. Besides that, it’s been great! I notice that while the sun is out uninhibited by clouds… heat does not permeate through the material- I have to physically open the panels and windows to allow sunlight in to warm up the inside of the yurt. With that said, I’m looking forward to summer camping. I do regular maintenance to keep the yurt looking fresh from dust, bird droppings, tree sap, spiderwebs and spiders. I use a ceiling fan cleaner and that does the trick. I wait this all is dry (no moisture or mist layering on the material) to dust it off. I also purchased and have in use the black tarp that goes underneath the footprint of the yurt. It works great. I didn’t buy the rain fly in time but I do recommend it to keep the material in pristine condition. Set up was super easy and done by one person. I bought heavy duty tent steaks to beef up what came with this yurt. I used a mallet to get those into the ground. Can’t wait to buy a camping stove but for now I am using the camping stove panel to wire the propane hose through ti the inside while I keep my propane tank outside. The velcro system works really well. UPDATE: material on the flap for the roof pipe vent is highly flammable. The design of it does not allow it to be rolled away to leave clearance for the pipe not to touch the flap. The opening in the flap is spacious but the flap itself doesn’t latch open at all… I had to engineer it to Velcro it open in an odd way - it’s like the roof flap was designed to stay closed even with the Velcro, there’s no way to keep it open. So even though I managed to manipulate the flap to stay open, over time it managed to touch the hot pipe- the pipe was covered with heat resistant material and the flap on the yurt still burned. That shows the material is HIGHLY flammable since it only made contact with the heat resistant band which was double wrapped around the metal vent pipe of my tent stove. I was watching it like a hawk, and every few minutes I’d get up to check and it still burned. Thankfully I caught it… it burned from the point of contact in a crease. I didn’t smell it much because not a lot of it burned when I caught it. It didn’t burst into flames… the heat consumed the material without much odor or smoke or ignition of any sort. Had I not been watching it, it could have been catastrophic even deadly. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT IF YOU PLAN ON HAVING A TENT STOVE THAT REQUIRES A PIPE VENT. Design is not safe for intended use.

Pro's and Con's
I got this tent used so it is difficult to pinpoint the source of the many problems I encountered. First the good part. It is a wonderful huge beautiful 20' space when set up. I can set it up and break it down myself and I am a small 60 year old woman. I set mine up like a retail store with shelves and tables all summer long to sell my crafts, and almost everyone who came inside commented on how lovely and pleasant the tent was. Danchel customer service was excellent with my many problems, questions, and complaints. Prompt, patient, and helpful responses via email. Now the drawbacks. The tent is huge and heavy to move around. The one I received was used (returned to Amazon) and there was no way to know if there were any issues with the tent. Turns out there were many. Broken doorway poles, mildew, and two rips along the bottom edge where the loops for the stakes attach. Customer service quickly replaced the broken poles at no charge, told me how to kill and clean the mildew and did not say much about the rips but I hand sewed them as well as I could. Then we had about two straight weeks of summer rain and the tent leaked all around the edges at the bottom zippers, where the rain dripped down the sidewalls and ran inside along the floor at the outer edges. Applied seam sealer and this worked in some places, but not others. Had to keep towels tucked all along the bottom perimeter edges to contain the puddles. Customer service advised me getting the rain fly and I did get it (also installed this by myself!) and this completely solved the leaking problems as it covered the whole roof and directed the rain away from the sidewalls. The tent was very hot during the day when the full sun was on it, even when all the doors and wndows were open. But it quickly cooled down when the sun went behind the trees. Because the tent was on slightly uneven ground, it was difficult to get all the sides pulled as tight and straight as they should be. Also when it rained, dirt would splash up on the sides and this got the mildew growing again. By the end of the summer my tent was covered with black mildew specks which had to be killed, cleaned, scrubbed and dried which was a lot of work. And lastly, when I took the tent down, there was a 3" rip at the very top which will have to be patched if this can even be done. If I had left it up longer I am afraid the center pole might have torn right through the roof despite being covered by the fly all summer. I feel like this canvas did not have the waterproofing/mildew/UV treatment that it should have because all this should not have happened in only 4 months of use. If I set it up next summer I would be sure to rewaterproof it. If you are thinking about this tent, get the fly if you live in a rainy climate. I would advise building a tent platform for long term use. I would get the model with two doors or roll up sides to alleviate the heat. It was a good experiment from which I learned a lot, and sold enough merchandise to make it worthwhile.

Saved my life
I lived in this tent in the winter with my 2 kids. It worked great. Had 2 layers of carpet on the ground. Wore wool socks and warm clothes. Slept with a heated mattress cover on my king, and a really nice wool blanket, plus flannel sheets. Ran a fire with a wood burning stove. It could get really warm in there. I had to remove myself from a water damaged home that was causing dementia symptoms plus 50 other symptoms to my body. Some dewing happened after a really long storm but it kept us dry. It’s still up, seems durable enough. I also kept a camping toilet in there. It was wonderful when needed for middle of the night or emergencies. If you’re putting it up longterm, make sure you build a base so you don’t get mold because of ground moisture! I saw standing water in there after storm after storm, plus snow melt etc. build a platform, you’ll be good to go!

Zippers are terrible, not enough support to hold up a 20 foot tent.
So we bought a 20 foot tent. We love how open and spacious it is. But I got locked in on the inside zipper which is the netting one, we are only 2 weeks in it and the zippers inside ones and outside ones have been causing problems since day 2. The windows I dislike on the bottom part of the tent and the zippers suck there too. I read so many reviews and thought ok this will be a good purchase. But I so regret it now. We bought it in September so I’ve no way of contacting the seller or returning because we’ve gone past the date to return. Also I think there should be more support besides one middle pole, and front door poles to support a tent this size. I don’t normally leave a bad review and giving 2 stars because it’s so open and roomy. That’s the only positive. Plus it over heats during the day and really cold at night.
