Work saver
Use these for semi transparent oil based stain on a cedar fence and deck with spindles. Nitrile gloves inside the mitt help. Cuts my staining time in half over a brush. Too much waste to spray the stain and you have to back brush it anyway. A half acre cedar fence with spaced pickets can be stained both sides by one person in 7 hours using the mitt. It takes 2 mitts to get the whole fence done. The cedar is rough texture and wears the mitt down. Turn the mitt around and and use your left hand when it starts to wear through. Makes a horrible job almost bearable. Deck rails and spindles are a breeze with this mitt. Can complete a 32x16 foot deck in about an hour and a half using this. I use a soft car brush on the decking. Fast and easy and it stains between the boards too. Can't really wash out the oil based stain after a big job. Just pitch it and get another. These mitts are getting harder to find in the stores, so ,stock up here. Update: 09/01/2020 Bought the latest iteration of this mitt and found the quality to be lacking compared to the older models I had used. I got about 1/4 of my cedar fence pickets stained and the stitching dissolved allowing the mitt to separated in two pieces along the sewed edge. Had two of them, and just figured that it was an anomaly. The other mitt separated faster than the first one. I can no longer recommend this mitt for heavier duty work. I wound up using a synthetic wool car wash mitt to complete the job. It lasted the last 2/3 of the project and saved the day.

Worked Perfectly on Deck Spindles
Pro: It worked like a charm. Made the painting job go quicker & more accurate. Con: The glove could have been a little smaller. I used just the tips of the glove to paint, other wise there would have been excess paint not used. Also be prepared to have a needle & thread handy, It immediately got a hole on the side,

Didn’t work for me
Planned to use this to repaint a wrought iron fence. It was falling apart and leaving fuzz in the finish immediately so threw away and didn’t use. Instead used some Wooster Brushes that worked great. Waste of money for me

STRANGE AND MESSY WAY TO PAINT
I heard about these for years and even saw a "You-boob" video on them and decided for the price I'd give them a try. We have not gotten to the paint job yet, but when I unwrapped and saw the quality and composition I was impressed---even if they don't work, I can use then to wash my car. It looks like these are suited for doing a messy stay slap it on job without a fear of getting paint all over yourself and everything around you. That is what we were planning to use them for. We have a pergola that I built when we built the house 15 years ago and it has seen its better days---paint-wise. We had to replace to 4 buy 4 totally inefficient supposedly pressure treated EPA yellow wood pullers because the new style EPA septic tank keep leaking out of the top and runs right down over the base of the front 2 polls. We noticed when I was trying to mix up a batch of something, anything, that would come close to matching what was left of the original stain that it would be a failed experiment in courage to mix up anything close. So we will mix up a 5 gallon concoction of stuff I have in the garage and get out our paint mitts and slap it on. I believe for this purpose they are a good idea and will go just as good a job it I got out the sprayer. I can toss these in the trash when we are done and feel no pain for the price. It might me a messy job, but so is spraying and you have to spend hours cleaning out the sprayer so this might be just what the painter ordered.

Perfect for wrought iron
Having read many of the negative reviews I have to say the answer is so obvious that I can't be the only one to figure out how to use these mitts. I buy two every spring to paint 24 sections of wrought iron fence. Yes, they are the size of a catcher's mitt. I take a pen and draw my small hand on the mitt. I use my sewing machine to sew the pattern, cut away the excess fabric, and zig zag the edges. Fence painted in several hours versus 24 laborious hours of painting with a small brush. Don't have a machine... take the mitt to your local seamstress ( many dry cleaning establishments have seamstresses on site. ) No, they won't work on rough surfaces. Use a heavy duty needle,. (Singer purple) I use oil based paint and have to throw the mitt away after use. Buy new ones next spring. Yes, I wish the mitts came in a small size so I wouldn't have to sew, but after looking everywhere a small size does not exist.

Left fuzz then fell apart
We purchased this to stain the spindles on our deck. The mitt left fuzz all over the first and second spindles and completely disintegrated by the third one.

Small tear in thumb
I have mixed reviews about this paint mit. I ordered 2 and I used the first mit for priming and I ordered the second mit for painting. I think the second mit was defective as there must have been a small hole where the thumb is so all the paint got all over my hand which kind of defeats the purpose of using a paint mit. I have tried to contact the manufacturer/seller and I’ve had no luck. Overall the mit was great to use but just sucked it was defective or damaged.
