Old school
this notespeller is a bit cumbersome for most of my students, lots of tiny print and long directions that are not exactly straight forward. Like putting "T" or "F" under lists of notes with a given letter name. The student is to figure out if the given note name is true or false. I guess I just prefer more straightforward note drill. It also includes rhythm patterns, time signatures, etc. I do think the artwork is very cute in the alfred d'auberge piano course, but unfortunately that's not the primary selling point for me for music theory and lesson books.

This is a great book for elementary school kids
I've been using this book since it was first given to me in the mid 60s. Funny that I'm the first to review it. I consistently like it better than newer books. It's got what you need and it's cute. Highly recommended.

Perfect! Love this Note Speller because it has flash cards in the back. Couldn't find it in any of the stores in town. Glad you had copies!!!

Note Speller
Have used this book with my other kids. Great resource. Easy to use, too. By the time the book is finished, the student has a good grasp on the mechanics of music notation, etc.
