Question 1

Will this device switch microphone inputs as well? I play to connect this to a laptop to switch between headphone/mic inputs.

Accepted Answer

You should look into mixers? Mixers have multiple inputs and one output for speaker. It has a jack for headphone.

Question 2

Does have to plug into the tv or use Bluetooth

Accepted Answer

You plug the speaker output on your TV or computer to the Input then you have the availability to plug in external speakers or headphones.

Question 3

My speakers and headphones make pop-noise whenever turning it on, Can I just leave it on with the lowest volume when not using it?

Accepted Answer

The reason for the popping noise when the amplifier is turned on is that it does not have a capacitor in line with the power supply. The amplifier produces sound through electrical current, so the initial surge of electricity when the device is turned on, causes a kind of signal to be forced through to the headphones.

In theory, such a thing could cause damage to a speaker, if the "signal" overloads the power ratings of the speakers, but in practice, this is not very likely, especially for an amplifier like this one. The bigger issue, to my mind, is that if you're wearing headphones and the volume is turned up, you may expose your ears to a rather loud pop, which could be harmful.

So, yes, you could avoid the problem by not turning the unit off but only turning the volume down. I would still recommend, however, the step of putting your headphones on only after you have plugged them in, and if you do turn the amplifier off, putting your headphones on only after you have turned the unit back on.
