Did I receive the right item? I this is not what I believe I ordered I was expecting the product on the photo .

Flax fiber is hard to find! This is natural colored. It's pretty well processed, although there are woody pieces to pick out. I spun it fine, dipping my hand in water frequently. I made singles for warp, and it seems strong; I also made 2-ply. Wash in hot water to set the twist, and "twack" it when dry to soften it up--the more you handle it, the less stiff it becomes.

perfect for what i needed it dosnt smell completely clean but its not so bad it is very soft and a good natural color it looks great

I use this with historical purpose with a flintlock Indian musket. It makes a good cleaning wad as well as wadding over shot and a fire starting tinder.

The staple length of these linen fibers is quite short (average is between 4-5.5" in the pack I received), but they are very fine. If you are hand spinning, I'd recommend combining this linen with a longer fiber for ease of handling. Good quality overall.
