Question 1

Does it contains lead?

Accepted Answer

Hi Marcia! Thank you for giving us an opportunity to answer your questions about the safety of our lipsticks.

The FDA’s independent study, published in the May/June, 2012 issue of the Journal of Cosmetic Science, confirms that lipsticks pose no safety concerns for the millions of women who use them daily. The lead levels detected by the FDA in the study are also within the limits recommended by global public health authorities for cosmetics, including lipstick.

All the brands manufactured and marketed by L’Oréal are in compliance with FDA regulations as well as the European Union Cosmetic Directive and the requirements for consumer safety in the more than 130 countries in which our products are sold. L’Oréal maintains the highest standards for safety and consumers can use all of our products with complete confidence.

If you would like more information regarding this subject you will find complete information at www.cosmeticsinfo.org. This website contains safety information about cosmetic products, their ingredients and how they are tested and regulated.

We hope this information is helpful.

Question 2

Which lipstick shade would look best with fair skin?

Accepted Answer

Sorry, I am not a professional, I just buy these products for my own personal use.

Question 3

How long can i use it? What’s it’s expiration period

Accepted Answer

Hi Trissa. Thank you for reaching out to Maybelline regarding the Color Sensational Ultimate Matte Lipstick. If your product is unopened and stored at normal room temperature, it will perform as expected. If your product looks and smells the way it normally does, it is good to use. Unless stamped with an expiration date, our products do not expire. Once your lipstick has been opened and used it's good for three years after first using.

Question 4

Does this lipstick provide hydration to the lips?

Accepted Answer

Hi there! The Maybelline New York, Color Sensational Ultimatte lipstick delivers more intense color with an extreme matte finish and a comfortable, lightweight feel. If you are looking for extra hydration, we recommend using our Lifter Gloss which visibly smooths lip surface and enhances lip contour with high shine for hydrated, fuller-looking lips. Let us know if you give this combo a try! XOXO
