Q: will it work on a 2011 chevy Colorado?

This remote goes with the code alarm aftermarket alarm kit. If this kit is not present on your vehicle, then these remotes will not work with a GM factory power lock/alarm system.

You dont change the buttons. You just program the new remote with your current system.

It is available online. I would suggest searching for audiovox and Code Alarm security systems and your particular model.
