I bought this as a replacement for inspecting 3 and 4 storey guttering. I was a little dubious as my original camera had cost over twice as much. All I can say is I was a mug for spending so much the first time.This camera is awesome. The picture and video quality is clear, the focal length is great and it's all controllable from the ground using the app. Plus it can be used in dark conditions due to its lights.I have used it at over 12m height with no issues.This really is a great camera!

I broke the camera on first use but customer service is excellent and it was very quickly replaced.The second camera is excellent and I really should have bought one years ago.

Small and with detachable bendy arm, I manoeuvred this into ceiling light holes to spy out hidden audio cables. Set up is a cinch. Picture is crystal clear. Image options are a wow. This is a brilliant addition to the SuperRod system and allows remote viewing of what is happening at the end of the rod set, even if it's 7 or 8 metres away. I use it to go into floor and ceilling voids to pull cables through. SuperRods are invaluable for this but it's not always possible to see what is happening at the end of the rod, picking up a cable remotely for example. The Ferret allows a cable to be picked up using a hook or magnet with a degree of precision rather than have to spend ages trying to hook the cable by "feel". You have to get used to viewing things in "mono" but once you do it's relatively easy. I have even used it to recover a pair of specs from behind a bed-head without having to move a very heavy bed! The camera can use one of three levels of light or even turn off entirely if appropriate. I have the Pro version and the only niggle I have is that the automatic focus doesn't always work - there is a manual slider to adjust it whereupon the image becomes crystal clear. It's well built, waterproof when sealed correctly and comes in a neat case with some essential accessories. Connection to my smartphone was (and is) easy having downloaded the Ferret app. All the SuperRod accessories are usable with the Ferret. I have also used it with a long decorators pole to put up Christmas lights at roof level and the same pole can be used to inspect gutters etc. For inspecting remote and enclosed spaces at a distance the Ferret may not be cheap, but it really is brilliant.Update October 2022It's all too easy to complain about customer service when things go wrong but my Ferret-Plus developed a serious focus fault after more than a year and would only focus on very close objects. Neither automatic nor manual focus would work. I emailed the manufacturers who responded within 24 hours and diagnosed a faulty camera which they repaired within a couple of days. Outstanding customer service by Mahesh and a real credit to Ferret Inc. A quality manufacturer in my experience and the camera is just as brilliant as ever.

I thought the Ferret Lite would meet my needs, but while it is good in most regards, I wish I had paid the extra for the Pro.Positives:Easy to set up and use.Connects to the Super Rod kit without issue.Decent image when the autofocus worksNegatives:Poor wireless range. Its fine with no obstructions but once you start using this in awkward locations where walls/floors can block the signal it struggles. The listing here claims a wireless range of up to 40m for the ferret lite - this is false. The box actually states a wireless range of up to 15m. In practice its a lot less when walls etc are involved. If the Ferret Pro actually has a range of 40m as is claimed here it would give it a big advantage.The other draw back with the lite is the lack of manual focus adjustment. The autofocus doesn't always work well.

Will be returning this. The advert and video suggests it comes with a rod of a reasonable length … it doesn’t you need to buy rods as well. Not sure what the point of the advert is showing people using rods to examine things.

Realy compact, nice usefull accessories, camera picture quality really clear. Spot on for the guttering inspection that i do.

This Ferret cam has for itself 10 time over. If I cannot see the roof or gutters from the ground, I can go to the second floor open a window and see it all. Even from the ground no need for the ladder to check the front porch gutters. Just extent and take a few pix. This Ferret cam is very handy and helpful.

Easy to use which very intuitive interface.Had some issue with WiFi connection where I needed to restart the app a few times before the image was attained.The NCVT feature is a bit hit or miss. It did not detect at the wall plate outlet but did detect a power cord plugged into a wall outlet.

This is actually my second camera. Love the upgrades made to the the hook and other attachments. Only getting a second one due to loosing mine on a job. Had it for 4 years with no problem! Absolute must for any electrician to have.

Very quick delivery.Had also assistance, for some details, from Ferret ToolsSome technical information I could not found elsewhere : the internal memory is almost 8 Gb; resolution of 1080p if recording only into the internal memory (the settings of the app do not show this option but only 720p and 360p). Horizontal angle of view 70°.It fits into a pipe with diameter of 3.6 cm, but it is better to consider to use in bigger holes because the adaptor to attach probably make it a little more wider.The screwing system into the black part is not perfectly parallel to the axis of the FerretPlus and the adaptor when screwed into plunges down toward the lid to port and the switch making difficult to unscrew it. Also the smooth surface of the adaptors and the fact they are not coaxial make very difficult to unscrew them from the FerretPlus.At present day I made only test before to use out in the field (boreholes and small caves)Camera still in a place, Wifi connected to the smartphone at a distance of 2m, autofocus on, light off.It stay on for 55 minutes before to have low battery. It recorded 6 files of almost 300Mb each +1 of 30Mb for a total of 3,3 GbEach video is 5 minutes long with dimensions 1920x1080, Extension .mp4Quality of the video seems good.Good also the switch from auto-focus and manual-focus available from the smartphone
