Easy install
Easy installation. Works like a charm. I installed these in both of my Heatilator gas fireplaces. They keep the house at a comfortable temperature without needing to run the furnace.

Little hum
Works great. Does have noise but not like the old one it's just a small hum of the fan turning the air. Very happy with it.

Complete kit - right price - can be improved
A basic fan that functions nicely, but at higher speeds can be a little loud. Gas fireplaces aren't really that efficient and most gas fireplaces has space all around the main heated enclosure. These fans are designed to push a little more air causing some circulation into the area surrounding the gas fireplace. it was designed to be placed against the back wall of the fire place pulling cool air from the bottom and forcing air up the back wall acting as a heat exchange to get warm air to come out the vent at the top.In practice it works ok because there is no ducting surrounding the fan unit causing air to circulate a bit around the unit instead of through the unit up the backside. Placing the unit on the back wall is difficult with the thick vibration dampening foam they provided. It causes half of the output of the fan to be blocked. I ended up using thinner foam and velcro so that I can easily reposition the fan up against the back wall without causing extra vibration. As for function the fan has worked flawlessly and automatically turns on after the fireplace has heated up a little (therefore only blowing warm air). There is also a delay shut down which allows the fan to keep circulating while the unit is still hot/warm after the gas fire has been turned off. Ample wiring is provided for the unit to be placed freely and the potentiometer allows users to adjust the speed and ultimately noise level of the fan.The instructions left a lot to be desired. It does not tell where or how to place the heat sensor or how it works. Many gas fireplaces also use a junction box for AC power to the fan which requires a 14 gauge jumper lead to activate. For the price it is a nice unit. Will report back if it fails.

Easy to install, came prewired
This is an excellent product and can be used on many different fireplace models. I used it on a Heatilator Hearth & Home ICON 100IT. I found room on the sides of the fireplace as the top and bottom are to narrow. Add the vibration pads to the unit, clean the surface of the ICON 100IT on the side wall and the floor where you are going to install the fan. Slip the fan in vertically and it will clear the opening. then position the fan with the outlet facing up and press into place so the vibration pads stick. Move the magnet Temp sensor to a hot spot in the bottom of the flame box (you can feel for this after leaving the fireplace on for a few minutes) next plug in the cord on the outlet on the left side of the ICON 100IT and turn on the rheostat to start the fan. The fan will start running when the temp reaches 120F. This fan doubles the output of the heatilator and the room heats up really fast. Another big benefit of this fan is that my wood mantle, over the Heatilator, no longer get hot as it once did. The heat is going out into the room instead of just rising above the fireplace.

Loud
Works good, pushes a fair amount of air. Sounds like a pair of weasels fighting in a burlap bag when set at high speed.

Great ball bearing fan for the price
Had a bronze bushing fan, lasted roughly 8 months of use then started squealing, lubricating only temporarily shut it up for a few days then made horrible noises again. This ball bearing fan SEEMS to be a much better design, but of course only time will tell.I will say that any time I’ve had a bronze bushing on a rotating shaft it sucked and didn’t last long. Ball bearings are the way to go so hopefully this lasts a few years before having issues.
