Can anyone recommend a good kids karaoke app for this microphone?

You Tube on the TV :-) or on your mobile, this is how my daughter uses it, I have made a playlist of songs she likes with Lyrics and she opens that on the phone and the microphone connects automatically once on.

can you connect to car and also have phone connect ?

I dont think so. It uses your Bluetooth unless your phone has a feature for that. It's got nothing to do with the product's capability.

Can you use this as only a microphone without pairing?

How did you get this to work? Once it says ready for pairing (and stops trying) the microphone part stops working too
