Seems to work fine!
I bought this device more out of curiosity than anything else. I have a 32 tcl tv in my listening room and was sending the TV's audio from the headphone out to the Aux input on my amp. The tv has a optical digital out and so I wanted to try a DAC to see if I could get better overall sound. When I initially hooked the toslink cable up I wasnt getting any sound until I unplugged the cable from the headphone jack, and voila! Sound! I guess having something plugged into the headphone jack disables the optical out? (not sure why) so, once I got everything hooked up it sounded great. Id say that the overall sound improved, but not drastically...and I did loose the ability to control the TV volume from the remote, and my amp does not have its own remote...so now I have to get up and manually control the volume....old school style...oh well. The bluetooth worked very well too. I noted that the ad for this DAC specified that it did not support Apt-X HD , only Apt-x, but when I connected my phone its shows the connection as being Aptx HD...not sure what to make of that.Build quality seems good although I have not opened it up to look at the circuit board and I probably wont bother. My motto is "if it's working, leave it alone!"....and so I'd say at this price point you really cant go wrong. As to long term reliability...that remains to be seen

Not recommended for use with TVs
I got this to use with my Samsung smart TV based on the description. I tried to use it in Bluetooth mode so I could control sound volume with the TV remote. I had major sound latency lip sync problems despite efforts to adjust latency, and of course, the TV won't control the volume at all in optical mode (which otherwise worked fine).I contacted the manufacture and learned that this device is NOT recommended for use with TVs. I'd send it back, but my wife threw out the packaging.I'll give them credit, the manufacturer tried to help me and were very responsive, but the Amazon description is highly misleading.

Misleading info in what it claims it can do
1st. My bad for missing that it is NOT compatible with any audio format other than "PCM". EVEN that does NOT WORK AS KY BEDROOM TV IS SET PCM. SEEMS AS IF I OR You will still need a stereo* amplifier, and that's if it works at all. As I do NOT HAVE a stereo amplifier. Mind you THE ADD FOR THIS PRODUCT IS MISLEADING. THIS AUDIO CONVERTER IS ***NOT*** ALL THAT IS NEEDED OR THIS PRODUCT IS JUST GARBAGE AND A WASTED BUY

Range is only 25 to 30 feet
Easy to set up and switch from bluetooth to Toslink or analog inputs however, the range is limited to about 25 feet. The range was my most important issue that is why I rated only 3 stars
