The most bang for your buck
I bought a Lezyne Super GPS in 2017 when I bought my bike. It was recommended by many friends as a budget friendly device that would do everything I needed. They were not wrong. I have over 10,000 miles logged on that computer. When my wife and oldest son asked for computers, I was happy to see that this model had come out. I bought them each a Lezyne Macro Easy GPS, as they didn't "NEED" to be able to upload their rides through the cell phone. This is a quality computer, as is the big brother, the Super GPS. They are accurate, reliable, and have a great battery life. They charge very quickly as well. If you are only riding 1-2 hours at a time, you should be able to get several rides per charge without any issue. In terms of competitors such as Garmin and Wahoo, I've not owned one, and not needed to. But almost every person I ride with has one, and I hear complaints regularly. The only thing you have to watch for is filling up the memory. But it took me almost 2 years of a lot of riding to get to that point. All you have to do is just delete the rides after they are synced to Strava or if you are like me and want to save the files as a backup, you can do that too.

Good product, some quibbles
Overall, I'm happy with the LeZyne Macro Easy GPS bike computer, but I should mention that I'm not a power user. I'm only using its basic GPS features, not any of its connectivity features to a phone or to various sensors. The basic GPS features are working well now, but they didn't start out that way. When I took it out of the box, charged the battery, and tried it out, the only GPS feature that worked right was the speed indication. The distance feature didn't work at all unless I turned on recording, and then the unit locked up after less than a minute -- it wouldn't power down or respond to any buttons except a hard reset. And the included Quick Start guide didn't say how to do a hard reset -- I had to go to LeZyne's FAQ on their web site to find that out (press and hold the ENTER and MENU buttoms simultaneously, in case anyone needs to know.)However, after following the recommendation in the Quick Start guide to update the firmware, all the GPS features are working now. The speed indication is sometimes off a bit when riding under trees, even scattered ones, but I don't consider that a major problem, as many GPS units have that issue. This is the first GPS bike computer I've used, so it took quite a while to figure out how to use it. "Why didn't you just read the manual?", you might ask. "Because there isn't one", I'd answer. They included the Quick Start guide with the GPS unit, which, for a first-time bike GPS user, is entirely inadequate (and I'm a retired software engineer.) In the QS guide there was a link to a "user manual" on their web site, which, at the time of this writing, turned out to be just a link to a PDF of the Quick Start guide. So I sent an email to their customer support asking for basic instructions (this was before I'd updated the firmware.) That was a week ago and I haven't gotten a response yet. I should say that, once I updated the firmware and spent some time with it, it's not that complicated; just quite intimidating to a new user, especially when some of the functions don't work and they don't know that it's because the unit was shipped broken!Since the unit works fine after the FW update (for the basic GPS functions -- I can't comment on the connectivity functionality), I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the documentation/support issues. It's certainly a much better value than some of the competitive units. However, I don't think a company should ever send out a product with most of the functionality broken until you do a firmware update -- that should only be done to enhance an already-working unit, or to correct minor bugs.
