It is BT4 and not BT5; the wifi adapter does not show up with windows update 21H1
I recently installed this on a renewed mini pc. It's chunky. However I had no problem using a usb device in the ports next to or below it but you might so bear this in mind. I put it into a usb port and windows recognized it and loaded the drivers for bluetooth and wifi straight away so I did not have to use the mini disk provided. However it's not bluetooth 5 as advertised, it's bluetooth 4. The signal strength was good but I was just 3ft away from the internet box and I didn't test it a good distance away. My bluetooth speaker connected without any issue.. Now here is where things take a bad turn. At the time of installation the pc was running windows update 20H2. After I manually updated to windows update 21H1 the bluetooth continued to work but the wifi adapter stopped working. It's not even showing up under network adapters in Device Manager. Fortunately I had a usb wifi adapter so I got back my internet. Due to this turn of events I can't recommend this product and I'm not happy with this purchase.

Great adapter but not BT5
I give this adapter 5 stars even though it's not a Bluetooth 5.0 device. But it works great and the range is fantastic.Misc tech noteTried 2 different adapters on two different computers, both running Windows 10 Pro. Tried in both USB 2.0 & 3.1 ports.

Barely functions
It functions as described, but optional windows drivers regarding to Realtek drivers and blutooth would cause the wifi device to not even be recognized anymore, once those drivers get installed it would lock out the wifi network drivers and force you to either dig into device manager or perform a system restore before the Realtek drivers installed.Fresh windows 10 installation causes this to happen, the optional drivers might be bunk

Wifi stopped working
Wifi and BT worked when I got it and briefly tested it out. Now I'm away from home and the Wifi does NOT work to pick up my cell operating as a hotspot about 1 foot away (it doesn't show up in Device Manager, and the associated utility, which worked at home, doesn't show the device either). As an experienced geek, I've spent all day researching drivers and downloading the latest I could get. But no joy. I'm writing this on a different computer which I also tried it on. Same results.Because the LED does not light up at all, I suspect a hardware failure. I'll be ordering a different device to replace this. Not worth my time to return it.
