Without this heavy duty device, I simply could not turn the whole house filter to loosen the housing in order to replace the filters. It is strong and the long handle gave me the torque to make it happen. The $20 or so will be a great value each time I replace filters instead of the cheap plastic which came with the plumber setup

I was looking for a wrench to replace the original plastic, small handled wrench supplied with the filter cases. Not being plastic makes it many times stronger than the plastic one, but the longer handle provides a lot more leverage for loosening the filter case.

If you’ve ever struggled with a stuck water filter housing, this wrench makes a big difference. The metal construction feels solid and much more durable than the typical plastic wrenches that tend to flex or crack under pressure. Installer overtightened filter. Did not want to break plastic wrench. This wrench worked fine. Will use plastic to install filter and this metal wrench to remove.

Broke my plastic wrench trying to remove the canisters after a year. Very tight. This removed them to replace the filter easily.

I had to find something to remove my very housing. The one that came with it is made of cheap plastic and wouldn't work. This wrench had no problem getting that stuck on filter housing loose. Fit the grooves like a glove and never slipped while applying pressure. Great value for the price and gives me peace of mind that should it get stuck on there again I can quickly remove it.

This product worked to unstick a filter that had been tightened with an extra gasket in it, causing it to get stuck by the time I went to replace the filter. My plastic wrench was going to break if I cranked on it any harder trying to remove it. The handle is also a bit longer than the plastic wrench I have for more leverage and easier turning. I do not think normally a metal wrench should be used tighten as you could easily overdo it, but if something gets overtightened this will break it free. I might suggest people continue to use a plastic wrench to tighten to avoid overdoing it and keep this metal one for easier removal only. If your plastic wrench isn't tightening your filter down enough to seal you should check that you do not have a gasket stuck inside the filter or try adding grease to your o-ring or replace the o-ring. The plastic wrench should be enough to tighten, and if you're breaking it trying to tighten it to avoid a leak you likely have something else going on. Very pricey for what it is, simply a piece of stamped steel with one end dipped in rubber.

A wrench should be like this! The plastic one broke miserably. Got this metal one delivered yesterday, sturdy and with longer handle. Now my water is fresh again!

Fonctionne parfaitement avec le kit Absolute H2o, (1 filtre pour sédiment, 1 filtre plus long au charbon). J'avais acheté le kit chez Home Depot. Ça incluait aussi la lampe UV. Meilleur achat du monde. Fini le niaisage!

This is a fairly decent tool that will last. Why those cheap plastic wrenches exist baffles the mind. They break. Like my father wise words once said; "There is not a man rich enough, to be able to afford to buy something cheap".
