The first time that I used this tool, I found it easy to use, and it worked very well. After I has loosened the oil filter with a metal cap-style wrench, I attached the Oil Udder to the bottom of the filter using the built-in magnet, and then manually loosened the filter the rent of the way by grasping and turning the outside of the rubber funnel. (I had wondered if this would allow me sufficient grip on the filter, but it worked just fine.) Furthermore, all of the oil that leaked out from the top of the filter was contained inside the Oil Udder as the filter was unscrewed from its mounting location on the engine; no oil got on my hands as I performed this operation, which usually has not been the case.I should point out that, n my case, the oil filter was mounted vertically, with the filter opening facing upwards; removing a filter mounted horizontally may not be as clean a job, but I would expect the Oil Udder to make it cleaner than it would be otherwise.Overall, I am completely satisfied with this product and I would definitely recommend it to others.

I really liked the "idea" of this product, and I had high hopes for it working with my 2017 ram 1500 with a 5.7LBut no go, there is no way to get this on the filter with any real chance of collecting the over flowing oil.It simply pours down the sides and makes that mess we're all used to because of Ram's failure of a filter placement. As such, it'll hang on the wall for the day I own something else that it may work on.Great product idea, but not for my truck.

As the other 5.7L hemi owners have mentioned the oil filter location on these trucks is downright stupid. It's bad enough that it really makes me think I will not buy another Ram product. I had a Dodge Dakota for 20 years and the oil changes were super easy. But no not this truck. The Oil Udder made the job way better though. I was able to hold it to the oil pan and it caught every bit of oil when the drain plug came out. The Oil Udder also worked awesome with a hose attached for catching all the oil that leaks out when you loosen the filter. When all oil stopped dripping from the filter but it was still partially threaded on I did switch to a ziploc bag to finish it the last bit and then let the filter fall in the bag. That way I could pull the filter out horizontally towards the front of the vehicle. Overall I highly recommend this product.

I have a 2011 Ram 1500 5.7L, the truck that helped to inspire this product. After receiving my Oil Udder this week, I set out to complete my first oil change with the tool today. If you are careful, have the front of the vehicle up on ramps so you can sit upright in the space between the radiator support and the engine, AND have a drain hose attached running down to a drain pan, you can indeed get that bugger of an oil filter off the engine without spilling dirty oil all over yourself, the truck, or your driveway. I still recommend putting down some cardboard or a large oil drip pan because accidents can happen, but it did the trick for me.The problem is cleaning out the Oil Udder when you’re done with the job. There are parts inside the tool not easily accessible to your fingers and a rag, so there is oil trapped inside that’s not going to be removed easily. Of course, the drain hose you attach will also have some oil inside as well. You can get this rig sort of clean, but it isn’t going to be ‘spic and span’’. They recommend against using stuff like brake parts cleaner or carburetor cleaner because it will attack the material the Oil Udder is made of. So the best you can do is leave the thing upside-down on your workbench and let it drain into an old rag. I guess that’s not awful compared to the experience of removing one of these oil filters without the tool, but it could stand to be improved upon.

First of all it's way to expensive for the quality. The extension tube looks like it was cut off a bicycle air chamber. The funnel itself is not deep enough. A joke! The XL model is for up to 4 inches diameter oil filters. Fine I don't have a problem with that. But the filter height exceeds the funnel a lot. I will have to pray the oil flow really sticks to the filter before it reaches the expensive funnel. Overall an amazing waste of money. Yes, I do not recommend this product.
