Fun simulation game for younger players
Free your child's creativity and imagination with this family-friendly simulation on the Nintendo DS.Our youngest son's first experience with the amazing garden of Viva Piñata was on the Xbox 360 system when we purchased Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts + Viva Piñata . This is a great portable version of that Xbox 360 game.Think of Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise as a progressive extension of the kid-friendly simulation game, Animal Crossing: Wild World . Viva Piñata involves an immersive, customizable world that plays in realtime. Familiarity with the Saturday morning TV series is not necessary to enjoy this game.Gameplay is similar to that on the Xbox 360, although my son likes the tap and touch control on the Nintendo DS better. You begin with an empty garden, a shovel and water can. The more you toil, cleaning up the garden and planting various plants, fruits and vegetables, the more wild piñata species you attract. The piñata live and die as part of a natural food chain. They procreate, too, using a cute romance dance that won't have you rushing to cover your child's eyes.Rating: Five stars.

Love it
I bought it used, so unfortunately it did not come with the game case and came in a little plastic bag. Despite being an old/ used game, it works perfectly fine. I had to delete the previous file, which was easy enough to do. I loved this game as a kid, so I'm sure that this game will be fun for any child or even adults like me.

Very Comparable to the Original!!
Since I am in transit from one place or another, and often am looking for something to occupy my time during those times, I picked up Viva Pinata:Pocket Paradise on the urging of my brother, who plays the XBox version.I am not disappointed! It is a very interactive game and it keeps you thinking every step of the way. It reminds me of Sims2 in that you have to be very diligent in caring for your pinatas. So anyone who is a hardcore Simmie will take to this game well. The only disappointment is that the sounds (apart from the opening intro) are very low - so if you are somewhere noisy, you won't hear some of the warning sounds from the game (like when a Ruffian is messing up your garden).Other than that, I am very happy with it!

I’m so glad I can play this again.
This was one of my favorite childhood games, I used to play it for hours on end. Unfortunately I lost it a few years ago when a hurricane hit, but now I finally have it back. I can’t wait to spend many more hours on it, it’s such a great and calming game, even if it is kind of addicting.

Thank you for carrying it!
Thank you so much for carrying this game! I love the Viva Piñata games and wish they would make more! A 3DS, PC and new Microsoft or Wii version would be great! I first played this game on XBOX360 and loved it. The pocket version of the DS is great and just a blast to play.If you enjoy Sims (specifically Pets), Harvest Moon and lots of baby animals, you will love this. Think... Farming and procreating piñata animals who give you candy. How ingenious? So glad to have my own copy. Can't wait to get one for the XBOX too.

Son has a blast playing it
My son had me order this for him with his allowance, he loves playing it so much his cousin stole it, but while he had it it was one of the top games he played in his DS, it was difficult to figure out how to delete profiles at first because we got it used but after that it was fun, I even played it a few times

DS version compared to the xbox360 version
When you start a new garden, all animals must be unlocked all over again. This is different from the Xbox-360 version of the game where all animals stay unlocked.Still a very fun game for the DS.The DS version does have a "playground" selection which is very cool and allows you to do everything unlocked - and the plants/animals available from the shops are free.

A lot of fun
This game pays homage to the television show and even includes the intro and cut scenes directly from episodes. The gameplay is fast pace and incorporates elements of ecology which I found very inventive. I recommend this game for only children to adult. Therefore the "E for Everyone" rating can be a little misleading.
