It works for repelling wasps off the pool water my pool runs 10 hrs. Every day. I put one in every 30 days.

yes. my pool is 20,000 gallons and i usually have two floating around.

Q: Does it heat the water like a solar heater?

No, all it does trap some heat under a sheet of clear liquid blanket, keep it mind only works if the filter pump is off an the water still & in direct sunlight.
