Easy build. Rides nice
Ordered this on a Tuesday and I was riding by Friday. Was concerned about building this myself but found that removing all the protective packaging was the longest part and they were nice enough to include a small toolkit and some decent instructions. If you are handy it would probably take someone 20 minutes to build, a bit longer if not and you don't really need to know bikes really. The bike rides pretty nice and I was able to fly up and down my street fairly quickly and the hills were made non-existent around my house. I felt like I was cheating when using the throttle. For the price i wasn't expecting much but it had some nice touches like the front light that works off the battery, the nice grips, and the solid looking tires. Would recommend this to anyone that wants to cruise around the neighborhood or to the beach in style (and not get sweaty). It comes with a charger that is pretty straight forward and I like the fact I can remove the battery withe included keys.

Great eBike
We bought two. One for me 250 lbs 5' 11" and one for my son 90 lbs 11 years old. We've gone over a 100 miles on each bike. Took them with us to the pebble beach 17 mile loop, up hills around town. We've gone through the coast of Oregon. Newport Beach boardwalk. Up and around our hilly neighborhood in Mission Viejo, Ca. And I can tell you it is what it claims to be and these bikes are awesome.Saying that there are a couple things that could be improved:1. The brakes are a little weak. When ours wear out I'm going to see if I can get better aftermarket brakes. There isn't anything fundamentally wrong with the ones it comes with, they just aren't as good as I would hope for the kind of riding we are doing.2. The kickstand is crap and it comes pre-installed loose and they don't provide a tool to tighten it (probably because it becomes pre-installed) and the tool that you need to tighten it is specialized because it is larger than most people have on hand. Feedback here is: have your factory tighten the $#$$ out of the kickstand before they put it in the box. OR, provide the tool to tighten it. And overall, even if it was fully tightened this kickstand is barely suitable for the weight of this bike. If the cost is reasonable, I'd upgrade to a better overall kickstand for this bike. The third bit here is about the sizing and fit. This bike fits perfectly for my 11 year old son and would fit perfectly for my 5' 7" wife. However for me, 5' 11" and 250 lbs its a little small. I've ridden over 100 miles on the bike, so don't get me wrong, it works. It's just a little on the smaller-side. I had a feeling that it would be a little small when I bought it based on how it looks with the surfer kids riding them in their advertising images, however, it didn't matter to me as much because ultimately I wasn't planning on using this bike as much as I actually am. As it is, I'll either keep using this bike, give it officially to my wife or other child and then get a slightly larger bike for myself.Performance has been as expected as well. I'm maxing out the bikes weight limit (and I have added weight in the form of a trailer bike and front bike from time to time) and the bike battery still performs close to what is advertised (for me with way more weight than recommended) and it overperforms for my son who is 90 lbs. And the motor itself is silent and powerful enough to help with some of these intense hills around Mission Viejo.Saying all of that, in my view this is a 5 star product. Price is good. Quality is good enough. And when someone stole our battery keys, I was able to call Hurley and the company that makes these bikes and speak to someone who gave us a reasonable solution to the problem.I wouldn't hesitate to buy another of these bikes for one of my kids or wife. I'd probably opt for a slightly bigger bike for myself.

Mostly happy
Like the way the bike rides which would be the most important thing. I had never ridden an electric bike so not a lot to compare it to.Like the removable battery.Fairly easy to assemble.Ordered midnight blue but the bike looks black.Signed up for free trial on Amazon prime only to learn the bike didn't qualify for prime.Took a long time to ship (2 weeks) and then we weren't aware someone had to sign for it. Note on the door said they would try again the next day. Waited all day and night for the bike to arrive as tracking on line said it was still coming the next day but it never showed up. Finally arrived on the third day. I guess this is more of a UPS problem.Overall happy with the bike. I have had knee replacements and even just "assist 1" really helps with initial take off.

It took a while for me to adapt to the bike. I had anticipated that it would work a certain way, and the bike operated differently. The assist function kicks in when you pedal and stops when you stop pedaling. The assist for walking the bike is very helpful and works well. In order to change the level of assist, it is necessary to change level on screen that attaches to the handlebars. This is not difficult to do at all. To brake, you use the controls on the handlebar rather than pedals. There were no problems assembling the bike, and the instructions for use were clear. Overall, I am very pleased with the bike.

Do not get it even a little bit wet.
Bike worked fine for 3 months. I rode it after it rained and there was a bit of condensation that showed up under the display glass and the bike completely stopped working. The phone number Amazon provides is for Hurley. Hurley told me to go to a website called Joyridebike.com. There is no telephone number for Joy Ride Bikes on their website. They will only let you send them a customer inquiry after you give them a bunch of information. One bit of information they require is the serial # for your bike. I called Hurley again and they told me they "have no idea where this serial # is". They also told me they "Do not have a phone # for Joy Ride Bikes" and they "can do nothing to help with my problem".

Wow, received the bike within 2 days from ordering!
Opened the box and bike was in perfect condition. Simple build and in about 20 minutes with tools included, charged the battery, pumped the tires up and off my initial ride, it is a blast.Neat feature is the throttle and as stated the speed hits 20 mph no problem. Can’t believe the value at under $1,000 I got everything I wanted. Also noted: comfortable saddle & riding position! Going to purchase another Hurley for my wife.Throwing a rack on this rig & I’m off to the store.

Love it!
A little leery of a lower price e-bike; shouldn't have been! I bought this for my wife; however, I should have bought it for me! The beach cruiser style is pretty cool! The single speed is very convenient.Very easy to to assemble; didn't take long and used the included tools!Highly recommend- still might get one for myself!
