Elegant and Uplifting – A Softer, Brighter Alternative to Cedarwood
Hinoki essential oil is a beautiful and refreshing take on woody scents. Compared to cedarwood, which is deeper and more grounding with a dry, smoky profile, Hinoki is noticeably gentler and more refined. It carries a soft, clean woodiness with subtle citrus and herbal undertones—almost like fresh-cut cypress mixed with a touch of lemon and light incense. The scent is calming but not heavy, making it perfect for diffusing during meditation, yoga, or winding down in the evening. It’s less rugged than cedarwood or vetiver, and doesn’t overwhelm the space—just gently lifts the mood with a spa-like serenity. In massage or perfume blends, it brings a sophisticated wood base without the intensity of other coniferous oils.If you enjoy woody oils but want something brighter, smoother, and more nuanced, this Hinoki is an excellent choice.

Gross
Awful. Smells nothing like honeysuckle whatsoever and the scent is much stronger than any other essential oil I have ever purchased. It definitely smells synthetic or at the very least has chemical additives.

Not right for me.
I got this hoping it would actually smell like blueberries and not blueberry pie or something mixed, but it really didn’t… I used it in a diffuser and it gave off a chemical sweet smell mixed with something that smells like someone’s gotten sick but couldn’t shower kind of sweet? I also had to remove the plastic insert because it didn’t allow for the oil to come out/drip. It’s super hard to get smells that are right, so 4 stars because the dropper thing was defective.

Scent differences
I liked the apple oil a lot but the strawberry smelled rotten and unpleasant.

Quality oil
It’s a nice thick oil that smells like fresh earth just turned over in the garden, not Hinoki. I’m keeping it in hopes I can find a petrichor scented oil to mix with it.It mixes well with soy candle wax, baking soda (to make a carpet cleaning powder), and lotion. If you make items with scented oil, this is a good one for John Deere Green themed items.

Great stuff!
Wife says: this is the best cherry blossom essential oil she has ever smelled. It has the most beautiful scent that lingers and isn’t over powering. She uses it in her tallow balm and it smells so good.
