Can you take a reading with the band on?

No you cannot take a reading with the bad on. The band is very tight, and I did not think it was safe for the sensor. I returned it.

If I buy this for my son, who is 8, will son small be too tight?

It depends on the size of his arm. I am 6 ft 1 inches tall and 178 pounds, and I wear size medium in this arm band. Size small was too tight for me so I had to order size medium. I hope this helps.

Where can i see a size chart? my daughter is four, normal size. (and if this will work, i'd want to get her a big one for her thigh too)

The last pic for the product has the sizing. You need to measure the body part you are wanting to use it on. I bought a 2xl for my arm which measures 22 inches, and that size was a bit too loose when moving around.
